A huge thanks to local firefighter and all round good guy Jamie Stewart - aka Spike.

Last week Jamie completed his mission out in Atlanta to climb the height of the twin towers, in full fire fighting gear, in 36 degree heat!

The event was part of a wide series of tributes to the first responders who lost their lives 25 years ago today in New York.

Jamie successfully fundraised the full amount and more to buy a defibrillator for The Old Bridge Inn (and anyone nearby who needs it!). We’re so grateful for this amazing bit of kit!

Thank you everyone who supported this cause both in sponsorship and supporting Jamie out in the US.

The nights are drawing in, which means Folk Session season is well and truly back 🎻

Tonight from 8pm, settle in at the Old Bridge Inn for an evening of live folk music, a few pints and good company as autumn starts to creep into Aviemore.

Bring an instrument and join the session, or just find a cosy spot and enjoy the tunes.

Andrew Matthew will be serving pizza from 5pm, so come down early and make an evening of it.

Our Friends Eclectic was too good not to do it again 💯

So this Hogmanay, we’re bringing it back to The Shelter for one more big night by the Spey.

Join us for a free New Year’s Eve party from 9pm–1am, with The Wook, Charlie Wright + OC on the decks.

If you’re making a night of it, we’ll also be serving Hogmanay dinner inside from 5–8.30pm, with tables available to book in advance. A £20pp deposit is required for dinner reservations.

Good food, good drinks, a packed Shelter and dancing into 2027.

It’s been a properly busy summer by the Spey full of music, dancing and unforgettable days in the Shelter. We’ve loved every minute!

The Shelter has more than one soundtrack. Some days it’s music and laughter; some days it’s rain on the roof and the river rolling past.

We love them both. Sound on for this one 🌧️

After a little summer break, we’re kicking things off again from 8pm tonight, with sessions running every two weeks from here on in.

Aviemore for the win 💯

What a way to finish the summer.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us by the Spey yesterday for our final Our Friends Eclectic of the season, and to Woody and OC for providing the soundtrack.

Thanks as well to everyone who supported our Cairngorms wildfire recovery fundraiser throughout the final sessions. We’ll have the final total for you very soon.
