Today we said goodbye to a truly special man in our lives.
Pete was one of Attleborough’s true stalwarts, a dear friend of nearly 20 years and a loving “Uncle Pete” to Tiegan.
I first met Pete and his wonderful family in 2009, when I started out in the care sector and looked after his dad, Ken, and Dora. Later, when I started my own business, we spent many years in the same offices. Pete taught me so much of what I know today. He was a great mentor and an inspiration to me.
I’ll miss our daily phone calls and texts, the abuse he gave me 🤣, and sticking his two fingers up as he drove past. They’re the little memories that will stay with me for a lifetime.
Pete’s contribution and service to our town will never be forgotten, and neither will the man behind it. He was a much-loved and respected part of Attleborough, and his loss will be felt deeply by so many. He dedicated many years to our community, serving with pride as a Town Councillor and Mayor, as a local businessman and, most of all, as a great friend.
It was a great honour to host Pete’s wake and provide the catering today. We were very proud to host Peter’s celebration of life, where we gathered, shared memories and raised a toast to Pete.
Our staff were unbelievable and worked tirelessly to help make Pete proud. A heartfelt thank you to our kitchen team for the fantastic catering, our front-of-house team for hosting and looking after everyone throughout the day, and our housekeeping team for making sure everything was ready for us to open. You were all remarkable, and we are truly grateful.
He touched so many hearts, and we can all take comfort in the fond memories we shared with him.
We lit a candle and poured him a Bacardi and Coke as we remembered him today. Once again, Attleborough came together to remember another legend, taken from us less than a month after the last.
Sleep tight, Pete. Your legacy will live on. You’ll be remembered and talked about, and your phrases will be repeated for many, many years to come. (Not appropriate for social media 😉🤣)
