England's World Cup Journey Starts Tomorrow Night!

The wait is over — Wednesday sees England kick off their 2026 World Cup campaign, and while we won't be showing the match at The Angel, we'll still be raising a glass to the Three Lions.
Why not join us and celebrate with a pint of Leatherbritches Three Lions — the new World Cup brew specially created for the tournament. At 4.2%, this easy-drinking blonde ale is packed with Amarillo, Nelson and Citra hops, delivering plenty of flavour with a crisp, refreshing finish.

Fantastic atmosphere in the Angel today, proudly supporting the sponsored Ramble raising money for Myeloma UK in memory of our friend Jayne Collins. A massive shout out to Teresa Wardle and Laura Coyle and all involved in organising this event. Well done all.

A big thank you, from us all at The Angel Ale House, to all involved in the fantastic Big Weekender! What a wonderful event, despite the weather on Saturday.
Also a massive thank you to all who visited us, regulars and new customers alike. Thank you all and for bearing with us in the busy times at the bar.
All our staff were outstanding and worked together like a well oiled machine. We are like a small family at the Angel and it’s such a pleasure to have some fantastic people here who work so hard, thank you all.

WORLD CUP SWEEPSTAKE AT THE ANGEL

The 2026 World Cup is coming… and so is our charity sweepstake!
We’ve got 48 teams available at £10 per entry, with cash prizes up for grabs and money being raised for a great cause at the same time.

Prize Pot:
£200 Winner
£50 Runner-Up
£30 Third Place
Plus £200 donated to charity.

How it works is simple:
Pick one of our sealed envelopes, sign it, and inside will be one of the 48 World Cup teams chosen completely at random. Once all entries are complete, teams will be revealed and displayed on our sweepstake board behind the bar.
No choosing teams… no swapping… just luck of the draw
Pop into The Angel to get involved before all the envelopes are gone!
