Quiz update….
We had a frankly alarming 134 players this week, somehow forming 28 teams. Special birthday returns to Keith from Chancers (who we assume celebrated by successfully chancing his way into another year) and our very own Nick!
There was a tie for first place, so we deployed our extremely scientific and not-at-all-made-up-on-the-spot countback system. The results:
In first place, winning £78, was “Tin Tin’s Haircut” – which, let’s be honest, is a strong name for a team that presumably spends a lot of time thinking about the important things.�Second place, taking home £38, were the “Unicorns” (mythical creatures, confirmed real, still not as rare as a quiet quiz night).�Third place and £19 went to the “Chancers” – living up to the name, as ever.�Fourth place, and the scratch card, went to “Where’s Emily?” – still no idea where she is, but the team is clearly thriving without her.
Our highest-scoring new team, winning chocolate, was “8-2” (which we can only assume is either a final score or a very specific life goal). And in bottom place, also winning chocolate, was “M ‘n’ M” – because nothing says “we came last” quite like a consolation box of chocolate .
Chase the Joker remains intact and will be a tasty £500 next week, with 47 cards still in play. Someone’s going to have a very good Halloween.
Thanks everyone for a cracking night. Next week is fancy dress for Halloween – prizes for best dressed, so dig out your best “I thought this was a good idea at 3am” costume. See you all then!
