Humorous Warm Night Quiz Update:
What a scorcher of a night! 🔥🌡️
The garden was absolutely packed with teams sweating it out on the hottest night of the year so far. We had 108 players forming 23 teams – that’s a lot of damp foreheads and desperate ice cube negotiations!
We had quite a few birthdays being celebrated: Derek, Ros, Steve, Jill – many happy returns, you absolute legends! And a massive thank you (and slight bow) to Moira for the delicious cake that somehow didn’t melt into a puddle. Heroic work.
Three teams tied in first place, so we deployed our legendary “count back system” (which is basically just me squinting at the scores until something makes sense). Here are the results from the great bake-off… I mean, quiz:
• 1st place winning £62 – “Candy Crush” (they clearly crushed it… and probably everyone else’s will to live with that heat).
• 2nd place winning £31 – “Tin Tin’s Haircut” (congrats on the sharp look, even if it was wilting by round 5).
• 3rd place winning £15 – “Chancers” (you chanced it and it paid off – respect).
• 4th place nabbing the scratch card – “Noot Noot” (Pingu would be proud).
Our highest scoring new team, winning chocolate (which was basically molten lava by the end), was “Bang Gang!” – welcome to the sweaty family!
And in glorious last place, also winning chocolate, was “Simple Minds”… turns out even simple minds can overheat.
Chase the Joker remains intact at £500 for next week, with 51 cards left. (Someone’s going home rich… or at least slightly less dehydrated.)
