To all our followers: we are planning to close this page down in the next few weeks. We have been posting the same content on this page and our main page The Sportsman Inn and have decided we don't need both. The campaign to save the pub is very much still in progress, we are halfway to our target, and you can follow our progress on the main page. Do please come and follow us there if you don't already.

Photos from last week's tasting and tap takeover by Little Monster Brewing Company. The tasting was led by founder-brewer Brenden and his apprentice Jack.

The tap takeover is now on. Two casks and four kegs. The kegs are the new beers launched at the event.

Good quality beer doesn't hang around long so come soon if you want to try them.

You can't beat a traditional Ploughman's Lunch. Available from The Sportsman Monday to Friday, 12 till 2pm. Enjoy!

We're looking forward to Greek street food with Happy Go Souvlaki tonight, and then from our very own kitchen we have an actual menu! Very happy to be increasing what we can do from our own kitchen. The weather today looks good, so come and enjoy our warm deck and the sunset over the Amberley Wildbrooks. We look forward to welcoming you to The Sportsman.

It's been a tradition for a while now that the locals come together in the pub on a Wednesday evening. No fancy activities, just good beer and good chat with the neighbours. Come and join us.

We are trying to save our pub. We need to raise enough money to buy the freehold from the current owner and establish ourselves as a community pub in the heart of our village. At the moment, we are open under a temporary arrangement but if we can't raise the cash, we won't survive. For a minimum investment of £500 you can buy shares which go into a fund to buy the building and a vote on the future management of the pub. All the details you need are in the link in comments.

When we say Knit and Natter, we mean any arty or crafty thing you can bring with you to the pub (your wood-fired kiln might be an issue). Your Natter is its own magical thing and we love to hear what's going on. Come and see us soon.

The Save Our Sportsman campaign launches today. We are looking to raise enough money to buy the freehold of the pub and create a community business that protects our village local for generations to come. Minimum investment is £500, which gets you 500 shares and a vote in the future of the business. If you'd like to invest, the link to more information, and the donation form, is in the comments below. We're holding two open meetings this week for anyone who wants to know more - Tuesday 14 May and Wednesday 15 May at 7pm in The Sportsman.
