Another cracking Dark Revolution beer has joined our fridge – Heavy Jelly, 5.6% DDH Pale 🍻

We love supporting local and you cannot get much more local than Dark Revolution, brewed just down the road in Sarum!

Heavy Jelly joins So.LA 4.5% and Gravity 5.6% in our Dark Rev can selection.

And good luck getting your hands on one before Lisa drinks the lot… 😂🍺

Tomorrow night, The New Inn FC take on 1 Mercian FC in a special charity match organised by Woody and Wood Wellbeing, supporting the Mayor’s Ball 2026 and raising funds and awareness for Salisbury & District Samaritans.

Thursday 10th September

Bulford 3G Pitch – behind the Medical Centre

It would be brilliant to see plenty of familiar faces there supporting the lads and, more importantly, a fantastic local cause.

🍺 WE MADE THE FRONT COVER! 🍺

A very proud moment for us at The New Inn – this month’s CAMRA Barrel Organ has landed… and somehow I have ended up on the front cover! 😂

“LANDLORDS DESERVE OUR SUPPORT!”

Inside is a feature written by Will Bennett, who came along to The New Inn, interviewed us and chatted about our journey with the pub, what we are trying to achieve and the importance of supporting our pubs.

A huge thank you to Will for taking the time to tell our story and to Pete Matthews, CAMRA member and New Inn regular, who delivers the Barrel Organ to us each month – although this delivery was a little more surprising than usual!

We have put a huge amount into The New Inn over the past year, so seeing it recognised like this really does mean a lot.

We have been working hard to make sure there is plenty of choice for everyone at The New Inn – and not just one token veggie dish!

From Halloumi Strips, Creamy Garlic Mushrooms and Cauliflower Bites, to Halloumi Burgers, Vegan Lasagne, Asparagus & Pea Gnocchi and our Chargrilled Vegan Burger – there is plenty to choose from.

And that is not all… we also have more vegetarian and vegan choices across our light bites and basket meals, plus vegetarian options for the kids too.

Proper pub food, with something for everyone.

🏆 FIVE TROPHIES IN ONE SEASON! 🏆

We do not give our Crib Team enough recognition, so it is time we put that right!

Led by captain Denzil, the team had an incredible season last year, bringing FIVE trophies back to The New Inn! 👏

Crib has been part of pub life for generations and we are very proud to have such a successful team representing our pub.

A massive well done to Denzil and everyone involved – five trophies in one season takes some doing!

Now let us see what they can bring home this season… 👀🏆

⚽️🏆 MATCH REPORT – WILTSHIRE COUNTY FA CUP 🏆⚽️

New Inn FC 1–5 FC Devizes United

Our first competitive game of the season saw us handed a huge test against a strong Devizes side who play five leagues above us.

After an excellent pre-season, Fletch had hoped to go into the game with a strong squad, but illness and holidays ruled out seven players, including both our first and second-choice goalkeepers. That left just 12 available and several playing out of position.

Devizes started quickly and showed their quality, taking the lead from a well-delivered corner before adding two more before the break.

HT: New Inn FC 0–3 Devizes

Fletch and captain James changed the formation at half-time and the response was excellent. The Inn came out fighting and were rewarded when Gilly found the back of the net after some good build-up play.

That gave us a lift, with James, Paul and Mase all having chances as we pushed for another, only to be denied by some good goalkeeping.

Devizes showed why they play at a higher level and added another, but our lads kept battling right to the final whistle in difficult heat against our toughest opposition to date.

Plenty for Fletch to be proud of — nobody gave up, heads never dropped and the lads gave everything. 👏

Next up we have a charity fixture on Thursday against 1 Mercian Regiment, raising awareness and funds for su***de prevention, before our first league game next Sunday at home to newly formed The Ship FC.

THE KNOCKATOURS! 🚴

We had 11 cyclists from Manchester make a pit stop at The New Inn today!

These lads have been friends since they were teenagers and are still getting together for adventures. What a great bunch!

They have fuelled up, had a well-earned break and are now back on the bikes heading towards Shaftesbury.

Safe travels, lads — brilliant having you in! 🍻🚴
