With a heavy heart we are sad to announce the retirement of veteran landlady and landlord of the Blue Bell, Margaret and Stevie.

Our family have served the lovely folk of Amble for last 15 years this Saturday including our daughters Elaine and Rebecca and our granddaughters Bethanie, Molly Megan and Larnie helped granny do the guest rooms. We have had some amazing staff throughout the years and still do, we can't thank them enough for their hard work, we are truely grateful.

A massive thank you to all our regulars and customers past and present, thank you for your loyalty and of course the money from your pockets. Some of our customers have turned into life long friends who we will stay close to.

So an end of an era has come but we invite you to pop in and say farewell, share a story or two and if the mood takes you buy a pint up until closing time this Sunday evening.

***Customer Update.***

Margaret and Stevie and staff are excited to welcome you all back tomorrow. We have very hard to ensure our premises are COVID Secure. We ask all our customers to adhere to the Blue Bell protocols for the safety of our staff and customers.

Please note we are subject to authority checks and customers are subject to fines and management are liable to prosecution.

Our new opening hours are
Mon-Thurs 4pm - 11pm
Friday 3pm -12am
Saturday 2pm - 12am
Sunday 4pm - 12am

Table service only. Cash and eventually card payments welcome.

On arrival please give staff your full name, address and contact no. Visitors to also give the address of where you are staying in the area. This is not optional.

We have implemented a one way system, entry front door, exit side door.

No smoking permitted outside front of pub, smoking area is outside the side of the pub. Remember to social distance.

Sitting/standing/drinking/talking at the bar is strictly prohibited.

Customers must remain 1 meters away from others unless they're from your household. 2 households may sit together inside up to 10 people or 6 households in our outdoor space.

No items to be left behind the bar including coats, pool cues, darts or other items. Coats must be hung on pegs provided. This reduces cross contamination.

Satisization stations are set up, please use often but hand washing for 20 seconds is still recommended.

Outside area is open and we encourage customers to use it in nice weather.

No bar games are permitted including pool darts and dominoes.

Customers are advised to keep noise to a minimum no shouting, chanting or singing. The Duke box music is for background noise only.

Dancing in not permitted.

Toilet can only be used by 1 customer at a time.

Be patient and curtious with our staff, although they have been given training, it's all new to them too.

If you dont get a wage or have been given prior approval by management then do not enter staff only areas including behind the bar and staff toilets.

Staff will collect glassware, I know you are trying to be helpful but please dont.

IF YOU ARE SUFFERING FROM SYMPTOMS THEN PLEASE STAY AWAY!!!!

As part of the government guidelines we have implemented a mandatory 21 day customer log as part of the track and trace scheme. Your name and contact details are to be logged every time you enter the pub. To make it easier on the staff we are asking those who intend to visit us to forward us your details in advance so staff just needs to record your name. All personal details will be kept safe and only passed on in a case of covid 19. This would really help us out massively and the staff can concentrate on the other guidelines. Thank you in advance. Please either pm the page or me personally (Elaine). I will post the new pub opening guidelines in full on Friday.

As you all probably know Boris has given us the go ahead to re-open on 4th July. We have made some changes to our business so please read and adhere to the following information. It's for the safety of our staff and customers.

The count down has begun to welcome all our wonderful customers back, few changes in place to make sure our staff and customers stay safe and well.

Sadly after tonight's Government announcement will be closing our doors after tonight until it is safe to reopen. I would like to thank our fabulous staff for their hard work and all our wonderful customers for their support. Many of you are more like family/friends and you will be a miss in our lives.
