**How to keep up with what’s happening at The Lounge Bar. **
Meta is now limiting accounts to just TWO links a month unless you pay. For a grassroots music venue like ours where we’re constantly announcing gigs, sharing tickets and trying to get people through the door to support live music, that’s a pretty significant problem.
It’s not just about us. It’s about every small venue, independent promoter and band trying to tell people what they’re doing. If we can’t easily share music links, videos of what to expect and grab your attention when there's a band you need to see then there will be fewer people in those rooms.
Social media should help connect people with the things they care about, not make it increasingly difficult for small, independent organisations to reach them without paying even more money.
**So, we’re adapting. Here’s how you can help us keep you in the loop:**
🎟️ **Our Linktree has had a makeover!** We’ve reorganised it so that all the useful links for our gigs are housed in one place, grouped by gig. Head to the link in our bio to find tickets, band information and everything else you need.
📩 **Sign up to our mailing list.** It gives us another way to reach you directly, rather than relying entirely on social media algorithms and whatever restrictions come next.
✅ **Mark our emails as safe.** Add us to your contacts or mark our emails as safe/not spam, and check your junk folder if you’re expecting something. We’ll post on here whenever we send out a newsletter so you know to look for it.
**Pay attention to the things you want to keep supporting.** Follow the venues, bands and promoters you care about, sign up to their mailing lists, check their pages and share their announcements. Don’t assume an event has stopped happening just because you haven’t seen it in your feed.
Grassroots music depends on people showing up. Getting the word out is the first step.
Share this to keep people following best practices for The Lounge Bar if they want to stay informed and expect to see the words "link in bio" until we can't shout it any louder.
