The World Cup sparked into life last night with a Messi Hattrick, Haaland getting a brace and Mbappe matching him.

But tonight is the start of The Three Lions journey and it feels like we need a good start the get the country buzzing.

The match will be on all 3 screens in The Farriers and we will be open later until the game is finished. 🍻

Day 215 of owning and renovating a freehold village pub.

It’s a been a few months now since we launched our new bar and the response has been brilliant, we’ve seen a lot of new faces coming in both from the village, Alnwick and Amble but also visitors to the area. This has seen an uptake in turnover which is helping replenish the bank account and also enhance our reputation as a great place for a drink, sport and live music.

However the question that seems to be on everyone lips is…… when is food coming?

So the last few month we’ve been concentrating on getting the building to good condition, it’s a thankless job as it doesn’t increase business, looks like nowts happening and costs a fortune. But we are nearly there with the roof(s) as all bar two have now been replaced and they should hopefully be done in the next 4 weeks. It’s taken the good end of 30k to get them done but it will be an investment that pays off in the future.

Back to the food. We have the extraction canopy for the kitchen booked in for the end of July renewing this again is a big cost but to deliver food and service to a high standard the kitchen must be right (do it right do it once!)

Once we’ve passed this milestone we will have a good idea of the next step.
