Admiral Bar Pool Competition - May 2026

Twenty five participants (including seven new players) braved the heatwave to take part in the May ‘Admiral Bar Pool Competition’ - the eighth in the series.

Congratulations to George Fisher who beat Paul Turner (3-1) in an absorbing final which showcased pool of the highest standard. Paul had won the previous two tournaments, so this was a great result for George, who has been a runner up twice - and has consistently reached the latter stages of the competition since the series began.

In the battle of the losing semi-finalists, Anip Paija, beat Dan Smeeth to take third place.

The Admiral management and Competition Volunteer Organiser, Chris Clark would again thank all participants for their commitment in making the May event a great success - and as always an enjoyable evening!

The next event will take place on Thursday 25th June. Registration to enter the June tournament will be at the Admiral Bar between 5.30 and 6.30 pm on the night. There will be a limit of 32 (first come, first served) and only those present will be included in the live draw.

Admiral Bar Pool Competition - April 2026

The April ‘Admiral Bar Pool Competition’ the seventh in the series, attracted 26 participants.

Congratulations to Paul Turner, for winning back to back tournaments following on from his triumph in March. Paul defeated Dinesh Limbu 3-0 in the final. (Dinesh had previously been winner of the very first competition in September 2025).

In the battle of the losing semi-finalists, the consistent James Coomber beat James Clark to take third place. James finished a creditable fourth in his first tournament, having overcome stiff opposition on his way to the semi final.

A special “shout out” too to Callum Daffrey who has shown continuous improvement - and was understandably delighted to reach his first quarter final at the fourth attempt.

The Admiral management and Competition Volunteer Organiser, Chris Clark would again thank all participants for their commitment in making the April event a great success - and as always an enjoyable social occasion!

The next event will take place on Thursday 28th May. Registration to enter the May tournament will be at the Admiral Bar between 5.30 and 6.30 pm on the night. There will be a limit of 32 (first come, first served) and only those present will be included in the live draw.

The Admiral Bar Pool Competition - 26th March 2026

The March ‘Admiral Bar Pool Competition’ attracted 44 players - a record number since the monthly series began in September 2025!

Given the number of newcomers, the usual 32 limit was lifted and a prequalifying round introduced to ensure that everybody had the chance to take part in the competition.

Congratulations to Paul Turner, playing in his first ‘Admiral Pool Competition’ who defeated Rabin Rai - winning the deciding frame 3-2 in a close final . To his credit, Rabin has shown continuous improvement in his finishing position since the series began. In another close contest Khim Gurung defeated the highly consistent George Fisher 3-2 to take third place. Khim also enjoyed his best finishing position in six starts.

The next event will take place on Thursday 30th April. Registration requirements to enter the April tournament and timings for the event will be advised in due course

The Admiral Bar Pool Competition - 26th February 2026

The February ‘Admiral Bar Pool Competition’ again attracted a very competitive field.

Congratulations to James Coomber who battled through some tough rounds to win the tournament for the first time. In the final James defeated George Fisher who finished runner up for the second competition in a row and continues to build upon his excellent record since the events started last autumn.

Bijay Gurung beat Rabin Rai to take third place. Bijay has finished in a top three position in three of the last four tournaments and Rabin has also shown continuous improvement over the last few months.
