Without a good kitchen porter, kitchens fall apart 💙

Every restaurant has one. The person quietly keeping the wheels turning behind the scenes. The one making sure the chefs have what they need, the pans are clean and service can keep moving.

It's a role that often doesn't get the credit it deserves, but for the right person it can be the start of a career in hospitality. We offer training and mentorship for anyone keen to learn chef skills and grow with the team.

It's a pretty exciting kitchen to be part of, too, we think. Alongside the restaurant, there's our Suffolk Horse Box, summer events, guest dinners and plenty going on throughout the year.

This week’s plat du jour is ricotta gnocchi with courgettes and anchovies.

At £15 including a glass of wine, it’s something of a steal. Available for lunch Monday to Friday.

We love our weekly changing lunch dishes. They give the kitchen team a chance to be resourceful and creative, making the most of the ingredients around them while serving up something delicious.

At The Suffolk you’ll find fish supplied by the Wightman family, who land some of the finest seafood for us just off the coast at Lowestoft and right here on the beach at Aldeburgh.

You’ll now find more of Freya’s vibrant work hanging in the bar lounge. Paintings inspired by our food, the building itself and the surrounding Aldeburgh landscape are all available to buy, either through Freya’s website or by popping in to take a look for yourself 💙
