Expecting to collect the West Wales title, we were stunned to find ourselves being announced as the overall Welsh winner!

We're incredibly proud to be putting Aberystwyth on the map and championing the outstanding cider makers of Wales, England, Scotland and Ireland.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us, visited us, shared a pint with us, and helped make Tŷ Seidr what it is today. We simply couldn't have done it without you.

Next stop: the UK-wide finals!

And finally, for what may be the first time in her life, owner Ffion was genuinely lost for words when the result was announced, which anyone who knows her will appreciate is perhaps the most remarkable achievement of the evening!

CAMRA’s West Wales Area Organiser Steve Brady (right) joined Bae Ceredigion CAMRA Chair John Gale to present the award to owner Ffion Roberts in Tŷ Seidr last night.

Tŷ Seidr was eligible for the West Wales competition because it had already won the Bae Ceredigion CAMRA cider pub of the year award.

We’re absolutely over the moon and so proud to represent Aberystwyth and West Wales in the Wales Cider Pub of the Year finals!
Massive thanks to CAMRA and the judges. We’re incredibly proud to champion great cider in Aberystwyth, and even prouder that it’s being recognised like this.

TŶ SEIDR IS WEST WALES CAMRA CIDER PUB OF THE YEAR

Congratulations to Tŷ Seidr Bar & Bottle Shop in Aberystwyth which has won the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) West Wales cider pub of the year 2026 award.

Everyone is welcome to the presentation of the award in the pub on Tuesday 9 June at 7pm.

Thank you to all the CAMRA members who helped with the process to select the winner.

Tŷ Seidr offers up to six ever-changing ciders served from bag in box and keg plus a large variety of bottled ciders to drink in or take away.

The range is promoted on a screen behind the bar and on a live link to the Tŷ Seidr website. There is a cider menu with tasting notes and customers can order a tasting flight of four half pints.

Tŷ Seidr was eligible for the West Wales competition because it had already won the Bae Ceredigion CAMRA cider pub of the year award.

CAMRA members carried out anonymous visits to the West Wales finalists and evaluated each one against CAMRA’s pub of the year criteria.

The quality of the cider is the most important single factor in the award, but members also consider how well cider is promoted and the role a pub plays in its local community as well as the atmosphere, décor and service.

Tŷ Seidr will now go forward to the competition to find the CAMRA Wales cider pub of the year.

Well… this is a bit mad! We’ve only gone and won CAMRA Ceredigion Cider Pub of the Year 2026! Genuinely chuffed!

On a personal note - switching to Tŷ Seidr Bar & Bottle Shop and closing the 'Kanes' chapter was a big risk, especially in Aberystwyth where change can take a little while to settle in. It's been great to see so many new faces coming through week after week and giving us a go. It's a very different place now, and no, we don't just sell cider! Alongside the enormous collection of board games, we have around 100 different craft beers, wines and spirits...and yes, there's a lager on tap.
But obviously none of this happens without the staff...so to the boys, thank you. You're all brilliant, and I appreciate you more than you know.
