Today’s specials are homemade lamb & mint burger with tzatziki, chips and either salad, slaw or onion rings £17, next up homemade chicken & leek pie served with chips and peas £16.50.

We are cooking today 12-3pm then 5-8pm Friday and Saturday it’s 12-8pm and Sunday is as per normal Sunday it’s 12-4pm

Real ales today are Sharps Doom bar and Exmoor ale we are hoping for better weather for our two Spritz promotion with Aperol & St Germain(elderflower) £8

Blooming eck these Sundays come around quick first up it’s lunch and Lewis is busy preparing our traditional offerings of local beef, lamb and chicken I’m might get to taste the gravy shortly (think I’m the only person who drinks gravy from a mug😂) we also do a selection from our normal menu as well.

The weather here in Abergavenny today is far better than expected so I think the garden might be in use after all 😂😂 first sitting we have two tables and second sitting today we have 4 tables available the garden room we have one available early and one later.

Tonight it’s quiz night it starts at 8.30 everyone is welcome - not too hard and lots of laughs (mostly at my expense 🙈😂🙈) Linda my knees aren’t knobbly at all 😂🙈😂 this picture needs readdressing……….

Just a little fun😂🙈😂we had a call last night for a table on Christmas Day (unfortunately we don’t open on Christmas Day) thinking about raising a little extra for Lewis’s & Amy’s wedding I’m thinking of sending the grandchildren to their beds and we would have 3 spaces on the big table then a 4 on the breakfast bar table £499 per head and the breakfast bar £389 also you must help with the cleaning 😂🙈😂

Anyway we’ve been doing some building work and I’ve got half a bag of plaster and a door going for free (hate wasting things) just need picking up also we have approximately 20 old bricks and some pieces of stone ideal for a rockery.

I love this time of the year in the garden, the allium’s and wisteria have been and gone and now it’s the turn of the jasmine and my personal favourite the agapanthus.
Sorry we had to turn away so many people last night (we had more people booked in last night than Saturday) to say we got caught out was an understatement 🙈😂🙈.
Today the weather is cooler and we are cooking 12-3 then 5-8pm I’m pretty sure it’s not going to be as busy as last night but to be sure of a table please book one by calling us on 858939.

Ssssshhh don’t tell anyone but it’s a bank holiday weekend and the weather is……..AMAZING and it’s the steam rally (normally raining all weekend) the first rose is out and there’s dozens about to bloom.The garden is looking pretty good if I say so myself😂😂.

The specials today are chicken Parmigiana, breaded chicken breast topped with tomato sauce & melted cheese with chips and salad £16.50, next up Thai-style salmon & haddock fishcakes with Asian slaw, sweet chilli mayonnaise & either chips or salad £16.50.

Tables are at a premium today as per normal we only book so many for food then the rest are left on a first come first serve basis for either drinks or food, and don’t forget it’s table service in the garden which literally means you sit down and we do the rest (apart from you pay😂😂).

The autumn has finally arrived and the last of the summer sun is here🤭, on a positive note garden is still lush and my little project of the rear porch is well underway and fingers crossed we can break the back of it in the next two weeks or so.

Today’s specials are Beavan Family Butchers faggots, chips, mushy peas & onion gravy £14 next we have Beef madras served with basmati rice or 1/2 & 1/2 with a poppadom £16.

With the sun shining we have a special offer on Aperol spritz - Aperol and Prosecco with a dash of soda, ice & a slice of orange £8.00.

The Wisteria is looking fantastic and its aroma is stunning, the rest of the garden is also looking pretty good as well. We expect it will be a flat out day today and I’m sure at peak times we will be full today so if your popping along for a bite to eat why not call us on 01873 858939 to book a table in our garden.

What a beautiful day here in sunny Abergavenny, the sky is blue the wind has a slight chill to it but nothing a jumper can’t cure. Today we are open for food 12-3pm and bar is open til 10pm.
The specials are Hand carved ham, 2 free range eggs and chips £15.50 next up chicken breast stuffed with Brie & cranberry, wrapped in bacon with roasted new potatoes, tenderstem broccoli & a red wine gravy £17.50.
You may have noticed we have changed our kitchen opening hours? For now we are cooking on Tuesday 12-3, instead of 12-8, Wednesday & Thursday we are doing a split shift 12-3 & 5-8pm again instead of 12-8pm hopefully in the coming month or so we can gain another Chef.

Well last weekend was a complete blast busy on Saturday & Sunday and both beers and food were flying out. Sunday we had a young couple who are regulars always two courses sometimes three, bottle of wine, pint and coffees always tip well, they were sat in the corner when another regular (lady of a certain age) who has never met the other couple before, anyway i sat her next to them and I overheard her saying cheers to the young couple when she had a sip of her wine ten minutes later the youngsters paid there bill and also paid for the elderly lady who when I told her 10 minutes later she had a tear in her eye🥰🥰 such a lovely moment.
Anyway end of the sob story so next up we were talking to my ex bank manager who was paying her bill we ended up over charging by giving her the next tables bill,
The picture of the lads by the dartboard played us in the cup final and the red hot favourites Labour A put us to the sword to do the league and cup double and they do richly deserve it🎉🎯🎉.
The specials today are homemade chicken, bacon & mushroom pie with chips and peas £17 next it’s Beavans faggots with chips, mushy peas & onion gravy £14.
