The Crown Aberffraw

That's nearly another fantastic summer season come and gone, even if the weather still thinks it's July :-).

There have been a few things going on over the last couple of months, which have added to our growing reputation,
Little did we know that we had been visited by Camra in February, we were more than delighted to be told we have been chosen to be in the Good beer guide for 2016-17, there are only a handful of pubs on the island who are in, another brilliant result.

Talking of brilliant results, we are proud to be the main sponsor of CPD Aberffraw, there new kit looks stunning, and the team have already had a couple of great win's against bigger team's, well done and keep the momentum going.

The Crown has also had it's own results, as of the date of this post, it's number 3, on the overall ratings on Anglesey, Wow, where did that come from.... I can only put it down to our fantastic team, everyone has and still does work so hard to keep the pub a friendly place to visit, again we're proud of each and everyone of them, our new chef Mark has slotted into place and kept our high standards and during the next few months along side chef bach and the kitchen team, they will be introducing new dishes to complement our long term favourite dishes.

Further to our last post, getting into top 10 on trip advisor was a massive achievement in its own right, Today we have got to number 7, which is simply amazing, putting Pub only filter into Trip Advisor,, We are Number ONE, this is truly astounding given the size of the pub and our rural location, Again thanks to everyone who has supported and continues to do so.

Today, proves that with hard work, things can change, We took The Crown over 2 1/2 years ago, which was in a pretty sorry state to be honest, during this time without a massive budget, we slowly but surely started to build both a great reputation and a great team , were this this leading.......
Today 2nd June 2016, on Trip advisor The Crown is ranked in the top 10 of all pubs and restaurants on Anglesey, given that there are some large businesses running several sites, this is truly amazing in such a short time frame, and being in a rural location on the West coast it makes it more special.
We would like to say a very special thank you to everyone who has supported us during this short period, and also wish to thank our brilliant team who have worked so hard and continue to do so, to make The Crown the success it is.

Seeing as Spring has Sprung, we have reverted back to our summer hours, Monday to Sat inc 12.00 - 11.00 pm Sunday 12-00-10.00 pm , kitchen hours are also now 7 days Monday. - Friday inc 12.00-2.30 , 6.00 . 9.00 pm , Saturday's 12.00-9.00pm , Sunday's 12.00-6.00pm. Yes The Crown/ Y Goron presents another wonderfully easy and rather noisy Charity Pub Quiz on March 3rd at 9.00 pm. Nick Webb will run the quiz again, which includes "Play your Cards Right". We are supporting in aid of The Wales Air Ambulance. Our last quiz hosted was a fantastic success and look forward to seeing you all again. Thanks

The 6 nations kicks off with England- Scotland tomorrow, France v Italy follows, Wales kick off on Sunday against Ireland, follow each match at The Crown, Be there for the kick off and wearing a Rugby top of a team playing in each match to have a free pint of Beer or Ale. We look forward to seeing during the 6 nations

On Monday 8th, Tuesday 9th, our opening times alter too 4-8pm, we are having redecoration works done to our 3 bars

We would like to thank Glyn Jones, who unfortunately couldn't make the quiz last nite, for rounding up the total to a fantastic £300.00, this year between so few, The Aberffraw community has raised over £7500.00 for local charities, a truly amazing total, given we are a small village , but with one massive heart.

It's been our privilege to of been a small part of this amazing community effort and want to take this opportunity to offer everyone our very best wishes for 2016.

Fantastic Quiz night in honour of "Uncle Les", atmosphere was as a fun quiz evening should be, plenty of laughing, joking and taking the proverbial out of all teams , Our thanks must go to Nick Webb, who we asked sort the quiz and host it, he did a brilliant job, running between the 3 rooms, Jan his better 1/2 did a stunning job of making the "Play your cards right" game and assist Nick , thank you both, Overall we raised £265.00 for the two Charities, a huge amount considering the weather we have had, Just shows you what can be done. We look forward to doing this again next year, and Seeing you all tomorrow evening to see the New Year in, Our very best wishes Chris and Lynn xx
