🇩🇪🍺 OKTOBARCHORDFEST IS COMING! 🍺🇩🇪

Oktoberfest… with a Bar Chord twist.

Join us on Saturday 19 September from 4pm for an evening of German beers, German sausages, German wine specials and a soundtrack that definitely isn't going to be your standard Oktoberfest oompah band. 🎶

Instead, we're putting together a collaborative German-inspired Spotify playlist and handing the musical reins over to you. More on that very soon… 👀

And yes, we're encouraging you to dress for the occasion. Lederhosen and dirndls absolutely welcome, but not compulsory. Think German-inspired, Berlin-inspired, music-inspired, or simply bring your own Bar Chord interpretation. 🎸

Danielle Booysen Live: Jazz, blues and folk-tinged piano songs with a singer-songwriter heart.

Join us for an evening with Danielle Booysen, an exceptional pianist-vocalist originally from the South African coast, known for weaving jazz phrasing, blues grit and folk intimacy into something quietly spellbinding.

Before stepping away from the stage for nearly a decade, Danielle built a reputation as a compelling live performer across South Africa, before continuing her musical journey as a resident artist in the UAE. There she performed at major events including the Dubai Hot 100 and the Virgin Music Awards, and later refined her craft as a cruise ship piano entertainer, playing night after night for international audiences.

After nine years away from performing, Danielle made her return to the stage right here at the bar. What began as a tentative reopening of the door has grown into something rather special, and we’re thrilled to welcome her back once again.

Expect interpretations and echoes of songwriting greats like Tori Amos, Carole King, Fiona Apple, Nina Simone, Regina Spektor, and Joni Mitchell, as threads in a musical language she makes entirely her own.

No cover charge, but do bring cash to tip the musician.

We loved having Jack Betteridge at Bar Chord last night. His stripped-back indie acoustic sound, paired with Kim on harmonica and backing vocals, made for a beautiful, intimate set.

Jack has a real gift for dynamic contrast. He can be incredibly understated one moment, then suddenly hit you with something full of emotion and intensity. He doesn’t say much between songs, but he doesn’t need to. The music does the talking.

The crowd was quiet but warm, completely drawn into the performance. And Stand By Me? Goosebumps. Seriously. ❤️🎶
