Trouvant ses sources dans l'Océan Pacifique la culture Tiki s'est installée aux Etats Unis dès les années 30 et devient incontournable à partir des années 50. Dans la mythologie polynésienne Tiki est le premier homme, mi humain dieu, par extension le tiki est aussi une sculpture en bois qui représente une forme humaine. Partie à la conquête des Etats Unis dès la fin de la prohibition, elle apporte

ra chaleur et exotisme, rompant avec tout ce qui pouvait se faire jusque là. Les cocktails tiki, servis dans des verre en forme de sculptures polynésiennes, font la part belle à l'alcool roi des îles : le rhum. Ils sont toujours fruités, surprenants, avec leur caractère propre. La culture tiki, dans l'univers du cocktail, s'illustre par sa créativité, son inventivité. Les précurseurs américains de ce mouvement ne sont autre que les pères du fameux Mai Tai ou du Zombie. A huge thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the 13th anniversary of Dirty Dick with us. The energy, the smiles, the packed bar, and the love from our community made this night truly special.
