We’ve had a beautiful warm and sunny April and it’s a great time to head for the coast for a stroll along the beach followed by a wonderful seafood lunch. The pretty village of Meschers is less than an hour and a half’s drive from Grange Lapin where you can lunch at one of the beach cafes and restaurants, walk along the cliffs or simply soak up the sun on on the beach. There is so much to see and do around our beautiful family gite from wine tasting in the local vineyards, tours around the Cognac distilleries, local markets and great activities for the kids. There is a fantastic family friendly beach and there are two great restaurants right on the sand where you can get a wonderful seafood extravaganza as we did on this beautiful Easter Monday! Summer is almost here so why not spend a week in the beautiful south Charente. Our family gite sleeps 14 people and there is so much to see and do in the area. Take a tour of the vineyards tasting the local pineau, wine and Cognac, visit the fantastic village markets, go kayaking on the beautiful Dronne river or simply chill with a cold glass of wine by the private pool with a view! Our beautiful gite Grange Lapin is only 15 minutes from the stunning village of Aubeterre sur Dronne with its subterranean church which is a world heritage site. It also boasts a fantastic selection of eateries and a great river beach which is a great place for a family day out.
