"Gorgeous home; fantastic hosts"
We chose to stay at Onze le Bourg as our home base while exploring the Bordeaux area. Tanie and Ian were absolutely stellar hosts, and the property is straight out of a Jane Austen novel (or the French equivalent... haha). The Property Tanie and Ian's home is spacious and beautiful - our family (4 adults - 2 parents, 2 adult children) stayed in the double bedroom and the twin bedroom, adjacent to each other. Both rooms were very comfortable, had their own bathroom facilities and kept quite cool (despite the unusually hot weather during the day). Everything was kept very clean and the Internet worked extremely well (arguably the best of our entire stay in France). Please make sure you take a spin in the gardens - not only are they enormous, but each spot has a unique purpose (the terrace for breakfast in the summer, the shady tree for reading). Our Stay Tanie and Ian basically run their own travel agency out of their B&B. Not only were they 100% on point with their restaurant recommendations every night, they were also kind enough to make the reservations for us. We felt that we got the best, most authentic food experience possible. Additionally, Tanie reserved a full day of vineyards in the St. Emilion region of Bordeaux and we had really superb experiences - we highly recommend that future visitors to the region visit Chateau Mauvinon, Chateau Cantenac, and the Bordeaux Classique wine shop in town.
