A word from Justice:
We raise awareness that girls and women can do more than work in the house, cooking, selling stuff at a street shop, raise children or other traditional things. We see a potential that is not being exploited and notice that women barely have time for themselves.
We fight for women’s empowerment and gender equality. With the help of surfing, we create a safe space for young women in Busua, Ghana, to promote their self-confidence and thus support them in leading a self-determined life. We not only provide the girls with surf lessons but also hosting workshops where the girls learn about their woman body, menstruation, contraception and reiceive products. We support the girls and introduce them to sporting activities to make them physically and mentally fit - a sound mind in a sound body.
We believe in an equal world with equal chances. We want to show that tradition doesn’t need to restrict women. By giving Ghanaian women a safe space where they can be themselves, learn how to surf, swim, do sports, study for school, have a community around them, open their minds, we want to get things moving: a life not determined by tradition or their families.
