Uus vuos ja varastolla reippaasti uutta vinkkua! Sehän tarkoittaa sitä, että ois aika availla isompi kattaus maanantaina 13. helmikuuta Bar Matessa. Ollaan kaatelemassa puoliltapäivin aina neljään saakka. Toivotaan ennakkoilmoittautumista, jonka teet kätevästi vaikka [email protected] tai suoraan Larille tai Sebulle. Nähdään pian!

The year has changed and the warehouse has been filled with wonderful new wines and vintages. Now it's time to open these bottles for tasting so mark your calendar for Monday, February 13th. Meillä on aivan mahtavia uutisia!

Soil Wine Groupin väki kasvaa alkukesän aikana yhdellä käsiparilla: meillä on mielettömän suuri kunnia, sekä ilo, toivottaa tiimiimme tervetulleeksi huikea tyyppi, käsittämättömän vahva alan ammattilainen: Pekka Rantala!

Pekka on monien huippuravintoloiden liemissä (viineissä) uitettu, helposti lähestyttävä ja energinen kaveri, jolla on laaja tieto-taito, sekä paletti hallussaan. Pekka palaa Suomeen asuttuaan muutaman vuoden Puolassa, missä hän piti puolisonsa Natalian kanssa viinikauppaa nimeltä ”Viini”. Tuskin maltetaan odottaa, että saadaan Pekka remmiin ja päästään triona läikyttelemään viiniä!

Kokemusta löytyy hyvin paljon monista eri ravintolaista, sekä viimeisen parin vuoden ajalta viinikaupan pyörittämisestä. Odotan malttamattomana, fiilis korkealla, että pääsen tapaamaan mahtavia tyyppejä huippuviinien merkeissä! Nähdään pian!”

We have amazing news!

Soil Wine Group is growing a bit since we are going to get a new member to our team on the start of this summer: It is a great honor and privilege for us to welcome Pekka Rantala to Soil Wine Group! What a professional and a fun guy to work with!

Pekka has been working in many different restaurants in Helsinki over the past years, he is an energetic guy with a lot of knowledge of the wine and hospitality industry itself. Pekka is moving back to Finland from Poland where he has been running a wine store “Viini” for couple years with his spouse Natalia. We can’t wait to get Pekka to join with us. So from May we’re spilling wine to everyone as a trio🍷

Schlossmühlenhof wines are all about finesse and fruit. Fresh, expressive and mineral-rich. In other words, they have perfect drinkability. The winery is a breath of fresh air and we are thrilled to have their wines in our roster. Absolutely wunderbar!

Brothers Gabriel and Simon Scheuermann are producing some of the most interesting biodynamic wines in Pfalz. They focus on maintaining healthy vines and soil is paramount in producing fresh and pure, true terroir-expressing wines. These are nothing short of impressive, and we are happy to welcome these innovative low intervention wines into our selection. We are opening these delicious bottles for the very first time this coming Monday in our tasting!

This highly anticipated pair, straight from the pulsing heart of Sicily, is back! These wines are made with grapes from Carricante and Nerello Mascalese vines and grown at 800 meters above sea level on the northern slopes of Mount Etna. These wines are a definition of a terroir treat and we can’t wait to pop them open!

Autumn is right around the corner and it is time to taste some of the new and juicy releases we have in store for this fall. We have a repertoire of interesting and expressive wines from Germany and Italy to tingle your taste buds.

Due to the ongoing situation with the pandemic we will be hosting the tasting in small groups in 1,5 hour slots.

Wine: Franciacorta Brut Nature 2015
Who: 1701 Franciacorta
Where: Brescia, Lombardy, Italy
Grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Nero
Notes: Mineral hints softened by fresh fruits and a lingering flavour of red apple. A smooth and creamy touch, characterized by freshness and elegant vibes. You can really feel the aging on the lees for 30 months, it expresses scents of yellow fruits and bread crust. Well-balanced & delightful wine indeed!

Where: Saint-Etienne-des-Oullières, Beaujolais, France
Notes: Full of sour cherries, raspberries, strawberries and delicate spiciness. The lightness and elegance of the wine is in fine balance with the mineral aroma and complexity that makes this gamay stunningly versatile and enjoyable.
