Málaga – the city where the sun lives all year round 🌞

If happiness had an address, it would probably be somewhere in Málaga.
Here, the sun shines for almost 320 days a year, and even now, in the heart of autumn, we’re still basking in warm, golden days. People here smile more, move slower than in big cities, and the air itself feels light and carefree. 🇪🇸

Despite its popularity, Málaga still feels authentic – warm, cozy, and unpretentious. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer, just to feel how life flows gently by the sea. 🌊🐚

So, my friend, if you’re tired of routine, feeling the autumn blues, and just want to watch seagulls while sipping your coffee – feel welcome to Málaga.
And don’t forget your sunglasses! 😎🌴

👻 Halloween in Málaga 👻

If you think Málaga is all about sun, sea, and serenity - you should see it at the end of October. When La Noche de Brujas (the Night of Witches, or Halloween) arrives, the city seems to transform completely: the streets fill with witches, skeletons, zombies, and glowing pumpkin lanterns. The Spanish know how to celebrate, and here Halloween turns into a true carnival. 🧙

Even from the start of the month, the old town comes alive: cafés and shops are dressed in themed decorations, shop windows show off skeletons and bats, and coffeehouses serve spiced pumpkin lattes and “terribly tasty” desserts. 🎃

By evening, the celebration spills out onto the streets, especially in the historic center and along the sea. Bars host horror-themed parties, clubs are packed with all sorts of characters, and music drifts along the promenade until dawn. Locals and tourists mingle, taking photos and laughing together, because in Málaga, even the scariest holiday feels warm and joyful. 🌙

The next important holiday is Día de Todos los Santos (All Saints’ Day) so the morning after Málaga’s wild Halloween is completely different. Quiet, bright, filled with the scent of fresh pastries and flowers in the cemeteries. After a night of revelry comes a day of remembrance and peace. ✨

That’s Málaga for you: lively, cheerful, and vibrant, yet always full of soul. Even on the darkest holiday of the year, there’s still light here because this is the South, and this is Málaga.

The Story Behind La Noche de Brujas - Spain’s Famous Witches’ Night 👻

Take a deep breath, now we will tell you the old story about Halloween, named Witches’ Night in Spain!

There’s one special place in Spain where Witches’ Night is celebrated with extraordinary flair. Surprisingly, it’s the tiny village of Trasmoz, home to fewer than 80 people and known as the only cursed and excommunicated village in all of Spain. 🌙

One legend tells of Aunt Casca, a 19th-century woman said to possess a secret healing balm, the power to fly, to poison water, and even to make mules lose their appetite. She supposedly spoke unknown languages and recited prayers backward. Accused of witchcraft by her neighbors, she was thrown from a cliff. After her death, her spirit, as the tale goes, began to haunt shepherds and travelers. 🧙‍♀️

Today, Halloween in Trasmoz is filled with autumn delights: roasted chestnuts, baked sweet potatoes, and the dessert “Saint’s Bones” – white marzipan with a baked egg-yolk filling, symbolizing bone marrow. Enjoying it by the glow of a pumpkin lantern feels especially magical. 🎃

For the people of Trasmoz, the witches’ festival holds deep meaning. Being the only village of its kind is something its residents wear as a true badge of pride. ✨

🇬🇧 Roman Theatre – A Fragment of Rome in the Heart of Málaga
Right in the historic center of Málaga, just a few steps from Calle Alcazabilla, lies one of the city’s oldest landmarks: the Roman Theatre. Built in the 1st century BC during the reign of Emperor Augustus, this site was the cultural heart of Roman Málaga.
For centuries, it remained buried beneath newer buildings until it was rediscovered almost by accident in the 1950s during urban construction work.
Today, you can admire the well-preserved remains of the seating area, the stage, and the VIP section reserved for the elite. The contrast with the Alcazaba, rising just behind it, creates a stunning visual: two civilizations, two eras, one extraordinary place.
A corner of the city that takes you back in time.
