As many of you know, I’ll be taking on the Ironman 70.3 Alcudia this May. It’s something I signed up for back in June 2025 after my mum encouraged me to go for it. My mum has always been my biggest supporter, and she still is — but this time she’ll be following me around in spirit. 😢
This is a huge challenge for me, and I want to make her proud and show her that I can do it. I’m more determined now than I’ve ever been.
Training is well underway and has become a huge part of my life. Dad took me to Lanzarote for some triathlon training (and a bit of sunshine!) — he’s now taken over the role of my supporter 🤣
In just 6 days I completed 5 bike rides totalling 439.6 km with 18,431 ft of elevation, 4 gym sessions, 3 runs, 2 swims, 1 yoga session, and a lot of stretching. This has set me up nicely as I’m now around 14 weeks out from race day. (You can follow all my training on my Strava!💪🏼)
I still have a long way to go but keeping my mum at the forefront of this journey is what keeps me going. I miss her every day but training gives me focus, strength and a clear head. She always knew when I had done some exercise as I was a much happier person!!! 😉🤭
I am now taking on this triathlon in memory of my mummy. It is going to be an incredibly challenging and emotional day for me but I would like to try and raise as much money in memory of her as possible. As we still don’t know the full cause of mums death I have decided I would like to raise money for the charity SADS. (Sudden Adult Death Syndrome/Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome)
On the 9th of May, I will be completing a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike ride, and finishing with a 21.1 km (half marathon) run. When it gets tough, I’ll remember why I started — and who I’m doing this for.
Any support, donation, or share would mean the world to me as I continue this journey. I can’t give up now!!!
This one’s for you, Mum 💔❤️
