Well, the football season is finally over… which can only mean one thing — World Cup time is nearly here! 😄

Welcome to the Mind the Gap World Cup Predictor & LMS Competition 2026 🏆

I’m going to run TWO competitions during the tournament:

🏆 1. Mind the Gap Predictor – €10 Entry

Predict every match outcome throughout the tournament.

Scoring:
• Pick the correct winner = 3 points
• Pick the correct draw = 3 points
• Wrong prediction = 0 points
• No prediction = 0 points

Before anyone questions the scoring 😆… there is logic behind it!

If you pick a team to win and the match ends in a draw — wrong pick.
If you pick a draw and a team wins — wrong pick.

Picking a draw is just as difficult as picking a winner, so both are worth the same points!

🏆 2. Mind the Gap Last Man Standing (LMS) – €10 Entry

• Pick ONE team to win each round
• If your team wins, you’re through
• If they draw or lose, you’re out
• During the group stages, you can only use each team once
• Team selections reset for the knockout stages
• Then you can use each team once again during the knockouts

I’ve attached the rules — honestly, it’s pretty straightforward 😄

💰 Entry Fees
• €10 for Predictor
• €10 for LMS
• €20 if you want to enter both

Revolut is the preferred payment method. However you can bank transfer it paypal if you don’t have Revolut.

If you’re only entering one competition, please put which one in the payment comment/reference box.

This might be of interest to all the England supporters out here in Spain! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ⚽

The first photo shows the kick-off times (Spanish time) if England top the group and go all the way to the final. The second photo shows the route and timings if they finish runners-up.

If England win the group, you’ll be able to watch every game live here in the bar. 🍻

If they finish second and we end up with those 3am kick-offs… it’s probably easier if you all come round my house instead. Just don’t forget to bring the beers! 🤣🍺

Roundup of The Gap Lounge & Cocktails La Zenia FPL 2025/26 (Best Bar on the Orihuela Costa)

What a season it’s been again, first of all a big thank you to James and Bliss the hostest with the mostest. (Honestly it is the Best Bar, the Vodka and Tonics are to die for!! I do drink enough of them!!

Many thanks to everyone who entered, you all make it a great league. Even if I’ve been rubbish again. It’s my turn next season. What with SAFC doing well, it’s been a disaster 😆😆😆

Well done to Tom Whelan winning the Main Classic League and 3rd in the High Roller, Tom is becoming a great FPL Player and soon will be taking over Dimitri’s Mantle!! A nice little £526 to Tom.

James Welsh (Ma Boy) has had his best season so far and pipped Paul McAnulty £122 to second place and takes a nice little £200 earner home! Seeing as he paid nowt to enter, he’s done quite well!!

Mark Shearman takes away £800 for two 1st places in the High Roller and 10€ H2H. Very nice little sum to take away and a big well done to Mark. He Might be able to retire 😀😀

Steve Thomas takes 2nd place and £162 and Mark Anderson takes 3rd £100 in the 10€ H2H game.

Jonathan Maciver takes away a £400 for 2nd place in the High Roller. Not too shabby.

In total £2310 has been paid out, everything in is paid out, nothing is kept back.

I’ll reckon up the interest made on the account and any donations from winners and send it to Andys Man Club Sunderland.

3rd = £122 - Paul McAnulty
Total Paid Out = £622

10€ H2H:
1st = £200 - Mark Shearman
2nd = £162 - Steve Thomas

After months — maybe even years — of pestering our suppliers, we’ve finally managed to get Somerset’s finest cider in.

Still trying to get Haze sorted though… it’s my personal favourite. Hopefully bringing it home ASAP. 🍻
