What the hell just happened???
Eighteen hard, exhausting, frustrating, exhilarating, rewarding, hilarious, glorious months of Bar El Toro came to an end last night and, OH WOW, what a night it was!!
In 2020, with the advent of Covid, I told Garry that I would never, EVER, take on a bar, having already been there and done that in the UK eons ago. Obviously and, as ALWAYS, he took me at my word and El Toro came into being.
Many, many people have actually thanked us for opening the bar, however, the reality is that, without those self same people supporting us throughout the entire journey, the last eighteen months would never have happened
We've hosted parties, quiz nights with the phenomenal Gavin 'The Quizmaster' (who I've been told is now available for weddings, funerals and bar mitzvahs etc.... reasonable rates, too), Christmas Eve and Day, New Year's Eve and so much more and, do you know what?... I've loved every minute of it!!
We've met so many great people and forged friendships that I know will last a lifetime... how can we be anything other than grateful?
Garry and I are moving on to the next chapter in the, as yet unwritten, story of our life together and hope that many, if not all, of you will feature heavily in its pristine pages.
