Crispy Shrimp Sandwich with Fries
Ingredients:
For the Shrimp:
½ lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
½ cup buttermilk
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup cornmeal
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
Oil for frying
For the Sandwich:
2 soft sandwich buns
¼ cup shredded lettuce
2 tablespoons tartar sauce or spicy mayo
Fresh parsley for garnish
For the Fries:
2 large potatoes, cut into fries
1 tablespoon olive oil
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
Soak shrimp in buttermilk for 10 minutes.
In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Dredge shrimp in the flour mixture and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
Toss fries with olive oil, salt, and black pepper, then bake at 425°F (220°C) for 25 minutes or until crispy.
Assemble the sandwich by spreading tartar sauce on the bun, adding lettuce, and layering the crispy shrimp on top.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with fries.
