GRATITUDE POST #1

Back in February 2025, I had the opportunity to discover the secrets of a 5 Stars Relais Chateaux Hotel in Torrent, a tiny village in the heart of the Baix Empordà. I was grateful to appreciate the rustic though sophisticated design of the place, the exquisite Empordà cuisine and the bucolic vibe that perspired through its walls.

A special thanks to Marian, the experienced and ever so patient Maître (and photographer) who guided me during those intense weeks.

The Archeological Museum of Catalunya located in Ullastret in the Baix Empordà region is an astonishing place for History Lovers. Standing at the top of the Puig of Sant Andreu, you will find the largest Iberian city in Catalonia, the ancient capital of the Indiketes tribe.

This Iberian settlement, dating back to the VIth Century BC, unveils the secrets of the Indiketa civilization, their defensive fortifications, their agricultural tools, their cultural exchanges with the Phoenicians and the Greeks, their cults and rituals and ultimately their downfall and assimilation to the Roman world.

A truly stunning place for a guided tour to learn about our ancestors and a splendid setting for wine tasting and gastronomical events...

When Modern Art meets Medieval History...

This summer, visitors of the Castell d'Empordà ought to go and delight with the creations of Painter Nicolas Lefeuvre and Sculptor Myriam de Lafforest.

When strolling gently around the castle, we will have the opportunity to spot these unique pieces and to appreciate how they blend harmoniously into the elegant interior spaces and gardens of the centuries old fortification.

According to Myriam, sculpture can be understood as a visual bridge between "what is and what lives." Through the use of the lost-wax casting technique, the sculptor produces her creations with clay to melt them afterwards into bronze and reflects around the subjects of the Human body and movement.

With his transcendental paintings, Nicolas evokes the lost grandeur of past times. Abyss and deep ocean Blue colors contrast with his symbolical use of Gold to let us be part of his spiritual journey.

We want to acknowledge Clémentine de Forton for bringing this stunning exhibition to life.

Feia temps que volia parlar d'aquesta mel, descoberta al fòrum gastronomic d'aquest any.

A Dolça Abella, produeixen mel provinent de abellars situats a parcs naturals de la comarca de Girona i adaptant-se a les diferents floracions de l'any.

De producció pròpia, ofereixen mels de castanyer, de cap d'ase, de muntanya i multiflorals amb diferents tipus de cremositat, aromes, acidesa i dolçor que ens han enamorat.
