It's been a while since I posted on this page.... around four months I guess 😱
However, owing to problems beyond my control, this Escape Bar domain is still mine (don't ask me for details🙄😂🤣), so may aswell give all you lovely people a little update.
After five years of running a night bar in our fabulous resort, it's taken me a while to adjust to a 'normal' life and body clock (believe me, it's not been easy lol 😂)
Although I haven't been out in Benidorm a lot recently (new job, new life... new liver! 😎😂) it's never far from my thoughts, particularly now we're heading into Pride week.
Having been around on the first Benidorm Pride in 2011 and every year since, there's always a sense of excitement and trepidation when September arrives.
As a gay destination we've been written off more times than I care to mention... Torremolinos, Gran Canaria, Sitges etc are so much better blah blah.
The fact remains, as a gay holiday resort, Benidorm has it all... something for everyone.
Community is a misused word in modern times. It's a cut throat world, where businesses have to compete with each other constantly.
With that in mind, it was really heart warming to witness a group of bar owners and entertainers, giving up their valuable time during the busiest week of the year, tonight to raise money for the chosen charities of two of our own, who have been fighting their battles with cancer recently.
Huge respect to to Darren and Dan at West end Showbar Benidorm and all the fabulous performers who gave their time so freely for such worthy causes. I didn't take many photos, just a couple of videos, but it was a fun filled event from start to finish.
Benidorm Pride week just started with a bang and come what may, it's always an awesome occasion for everyone who loves our wonderful town.
For the first time in many years, I won't have my business head on this week. Myself and my gorgeous sidekick Sue, will be staying in a secret hideaway in town all weekend (don't ask where, or I may have to kill you 😎😂) and we're also expecting a surprise visit from Rouven 🕺🕺
We're so looking forward to a fab weekend catching up with friends old and new.

Happy Pride to one and all....... we have such a lot to be thankful for, being able to celebrate our community in this inclusive, welcoming oasis we all know and love.
