Artec Studio is an international awarded light workshop with over 20 years of experience, founded by lighting designer Maurici Ginés in 1998. We work with light, developing projects in architectural lighting design, creating light-art works and luminaires, from our offices in Barcelona, México City, Madrid and New York. The aim is to offer our clients all the potential that shaping light can provi

Light as experience ✨

The iGuzzini showroom in Recanati is built around a concrete premise: light is not explained, it is experienced. That principle organises the entire project, from the spatial layout to the logic of the journey.

The scenography, conceived by Artec Studio alongside architect Atelier Alfonso Femia, unfolds as a sequence of interconnected spaces. The visit can be guided or self-directed, with different durations and approaches depending on the visitor profile.

The result is a space designed for light to be understood and evaluated in real conditions.

🟠 The sun, brought indoors

SOLO is born from the warmth of a setting sun, that brief instant when light rests on the horizon before fading. A dual luminous effect: soft diffused light from the front, an indirect halo cast onto the wall behind. Colour filters tune the atmosphere toward the warm tones of dusk.

Selected for the Selecció Delta 2026, among the 203 projects shortlisted for the Premis Delta, the annual recognition of excellence in industrial design at a national level.
Available as wall and table lamp in 40 and 60 cm diameters, and as a 90 cm wall version.

Good News ✨ Sinia designed by Maurici Ginés for LedsC4, has been recognised with the Product Design 2026.

Sinia is designed to belong to the landscape, not to compete with it: delicate in form, warm in light, quiet in presence. In Maurici Ginés own words: “The idea was not to design a protagonist, but a presence that belongs to the garden. Sinia is light turned into a gesture, subtle and natural, like a flower.”

At Hospital light transforms the building into a living presence after sunset. What was once a static colorful façade evolves into a dynamic surface that communicates warmth, playfulness, and care toward the city.

A matrix of over 12,000 digital pixels turns the envelope into a low-resolution media façade, where light is embedded rather than applied. Subtle transitions between color, gradients, and animated sequences create a calm rhythm that balances visibility with sensitivity.

Light does not seek spectacle, but connection. A quiet expression of optimism that accompanies the urban night.

🌘🌿 Light continues inward.

At Brandílera by James P***e, the interior spaces extend the same approach through a more contained atmosphere. Home cinema, guest rooms, sauna, steam room, and gift shop with Exclusive James P***e Apparel are shaped by integrated light, embedded into ceilings, walls and architectural details.

Light remains indirect and controlled, defining depth through reflection rather than emphasis. Surfaces are revealed gradually, allowing materials and textures to emerge while maintaining a sense of calm and continuity.

These spaces feel quiet, intimate and immersive.

🌘🌿 Architecture emerges from shadow.

Located on the Pacific coast of Nayarit (Mexico) this house by for is conceived as a series of low pavilions dispersed across the landscape. Guest rooms, shared spaces, pools and a spa are connected by paths defined by walls, colonnades and vegetation. The fragmented layout follows the topography and existing flora, allowing architecture and landscape to merge through scale, material and shadow.

Exterior spaces unfold as open, shaded environments. The pool acts as a central void, reflecting light onto surrounding surfaces and revealing columns, pavements and overhangs. Circulation moves through patios and covered outdoor rooms where darkness remains present and the landscape recedes.

Interior spaces follow the same approach, with the spa defined by light integrated into ceilings and architectural recesses, creating gentle gradients that maintain continuity with the exterior.

EVEN ⬛ A lighting piece designed for high visual comfort, featuring a minimalist and pure orthogonal form that acts in silhouette, tensioned for balance, offering vertical flexibility.

Designed by and takes inspiration from Bauhaus principles, where form and function work as one. Its orthogonal form responds directly to how light is experienced, creating a clear and balanced presence in space. As Maurici Ginés says “It echoes Black Square by Kazimir Malevich, a dark plane suspended in light, where matter meets the intangible”. Indirect light and vertical adaptability allow it to integrate quietly, shaping the atmosphere without imposing itself.

The Experience of the Spatial Journey ▫️⬜️

located in Cabo del Sol, Baja California Sur, is conceived as a place that departs from the traditional shopping-center model to propose a spatial experience closer to that of a livable, social environment, comparable to a public plaza, open and deeply connected to its site.

Rather than revealing itself immediately, the project is discovered progressively through the cadence of its spatial sequence. The architecture is articulated through the displacement of volumes and levels, connected by passages, pathways, and staircases, generating a stratified journey shaped by movement and perception.

From a lighting perspective, the project is understood as a landscape that unfolds over time. At night, carefully calibrated accents guide movement and establish spatial hierarchies, allowing light to act as an intangible constructive material that reinforces architecture, landscape, and human scale.
