Over the past few days, our community has been through something truly heartbreaking.
First and foremost, our thoughts are with the families and friends of those who have tragically lost their lives, and with everyone still waiting for news of missing loved ones. We cannot begin to imagine what they are going through.
Our hearts also go out to everyone who has lost their homes, properties, pets, businesses and livelihoods, or who has had to endure the fear and uncertainty of evacuation. The impact of this wildfire has been devastating, and it will be a long road to recovery for so many.
We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the firefighters, emergency services, volunteers and everyone who has worked tirelessly, often in incredibly difficult conditions, to protect our communities. Your courage, dedication and selflessness have been nothing short of extraordinary.
As many of you know, we were evacuated and, like so many other businesses, have been unable to open during this time. Although the fire has now been stabilised and the roads are expected to reopen soon, we won't be opening today. We are hopeful that we can return to some sense of normality next weekend.
Thank you to everyone who has checked in on us and for all the kindness and support shown throughout these difficult days. Please continue to keep those most affected in your thoughts and support one another in any way you can.
