(Heart-)Breaking News!

With immense pride and a selfish bit of sadness, we are sending off Maksim Bai onto a new part of his bartending adventure.

Maksim has been a core member of our family for almost five years and even longer as a guest and a friend. You know him as the always-smiling person in and around the bar, busting out the most ridiculous forgotten classics like it's everyday business.

Your De La Lousiennes during the peak of a Friday night rush will be missed.

Maksim's last service with us was full of familiar faces who came for his last dance, as he bravely held onto the icy shaker with a traditional Ramos Gin Fizz for a full twelve minutes.

His legacy will be with us for a bit longer though, as his drinks will still be a part of our menu for another year. Please enjoy them, and reminisce here with a few pictures of Maksim through the years as well.

Maksim, Rome is getting a helluva bartender in you, good on them. It's been a pleasure to see you grow and shake and stir alongside you. Buona Fortuna!

Midsummer only comes once a year, and we believe it should be celebrated properly.
Our team will be swapping shakers for bonfires, city lights for nature, and late nights at the bar for a few days of fresh air, good company, and well-deserved recharging.

✨ Whisper Sister will be closed from 21–24 June (inclusive).
✨ We’ll be back behind the bar on Thursday, 25 June.

If there’s ever a time to escape the city, gather your favourite people, stay up too late around a fire, and enjoy the Estonian summer, it’s now.

The menu is only the beginning.

Over the years, one of the things we’ve become most proud of isn’t what’s on our shelves, but the conversations that happen around them.

Whether you take a seat at the bar or join us at a table, our favourite question is rarely “What would you like to order?” Instead, we ask what you usually enjoy, what flavours you are drawn to, or simply what kind of mood you’re in.

From there, we do what we love most: guide, recommend, and occasionally surprise.

Our team spends years learning about spirits, cocktails, flavours, and techniques—not to show off knowledge, but to share it. So if something on the shelf catches your eye, ask. If you’re curious, ask. If you have no idea what you feel like drinking tonight, that’s often when the most interesting drinks happen.

After all, hospitality is more than serving drinks. It’s making people feel looked after. Take a seat at the bar.

Not every drink makes the menu.
Behind the scenes, our team has been spending the last weeks tasting, tweaking and debating every detail of our upcoming menu.

Every cocktail has to earn its place. Is it memorable enough? Does it fit the season? Does it bring something new to the story we’re trying to tell?
Some ideas disappear after the first tasting. Others slowly become favourites.
Creating a menu is never the work of one person. It’s a process shaped by the whole team, countless flavour experiments and the pursuit of flavours that keep us coming back for another sip.

We’re making space for something new.

History of this house is long.

Long before Whisper Sister moved in almost 10 years ago, these rooms lived many different lives.
There has been a bowling alley here, a bank, a hairdresser, even an eatery for the bank staff and a showroom for a design store.

And somehow, through all the changes, the house kept its character — little rooms connected through hidden corners, curtains, stairways and soft light.

If it’s your first time visiting us, there’s a good chance you’ll get a little lost somewhere between the rooms… especially after a few cocktails. But somehow
everything circles back together and you always end up exactly where you need to be.

Whisper Sister is divided between the Round Room, Piano Room, Living Room and our Bar Room — each with its own atmosphere and rhythm.

The Living Room has quietly become one of the spaces our guests are most curious to reserve for smaller celebrations. Birthday parties, poker nights, company gatherings, private evenings with friends — it comfortably hosts around 23 guests while still feeling intimate and warm.

And during our anniversary year, it feels special to look around these walls and think about how many stories this house has already held over the decades.

This year marks something special for us — at the end of 2026, it will be exactly 10 years since we first ‘closed’ the mystical blue door of Whisper Sister to the public.

Over the years, behind that blue door, there have been late nights, first dates, celebrations, friendships, whispered conversations, and countless cocktails shared between strangers who didn’t stay strangers for long.

Throughout this anniversary year, we’ll be sharing pieces of our story:
our team over the years, memories from the opening party, the very first menus, reconstruction photos from when the rooms looked nothing like they do today — and many moments in between.

Ten years of cocktails, music, atmosphere, and beautiful chaos.

Meet the team — Raul.
Our bar manager and very much the heart of Whisper Sister. He’s been with us the longest, and over time has become a quiet anchor of the team.

Raul has a way of bringing people together and setting the tone behind the bar—calm, attentive, and genuinely warm. The kind of presence you feel, even if you can’t quite point out why everything just works.
