Graphic designer and Illustrator Emma Sivell Pop-up exhibition at Skamløs
Prints and sketchbook paintings
"I started "an icon a day" to teach myself illustrator and celebrate my adopted home.
I'm now revisiting this project and teaching myself to paint. These small paintings are my middle finger to AI! They don't come into being from prompts or by scraping the internet! The good days are massively out numbered by the bad. All too often, even with the best of intentions, I don't sit down with the paints. Sometimes paying work, doom scrolling or the washing needs to be done. Sometimes I'd rather spend time with friends and family. I'm human and this project reflects this. It's imperfect.
One illustration from this year has now found itself in print. It's a bakery poster map for my local area - Østerbro. Baked goods have become a bit of an obsession! I'll have copies of this poster with me at the pop-up and some sketch work too.
If you are in the Skamløs area between 12:00 and 16:00 on Saturday come in and say hi."
