A few weeks ago, I've foraged some elderflowers and turned them into fragrant, handmade sparkling wine. It's already on the menu, but the update will follow only next week. Nevertheless, if you're curious, you can already taste it by coming down to Atze Peng. See you at the bar.

Yesterday morning, my father left this plane.

You, my dear guest, might ask, "What does this have to do with me?" Well, if not for the obvious reason that he, together with my mother, nourished me to adulthood, there is one other pertinent reason. Let me explain.

A few years after I moved to Denmark to be a father to my son, it became clear that if I wanted to continue practicing my craft at the level I had become accustomed to, create a platform for further growth, and provide stability for my son, I needed to open my own bar. I had the intent, the energy, and a plan, yet I lacked the financial means to realise it.

My bank advisor literally laughed in my face when I inquired about a loan. A while later, my dad offered to mortgage his apartment so I could get a loan from an Austrian bank. That enabled me to purchase the premises and build Atze Peng from scratch.

During the years I spent building the bar, I often thought not only of my dad's generosity, but also of the skills I had learned from him, which allowed me to build this bar with my own hands. His woodworking skills, together with the confidence to solve the countless challenges along the way, became part of its very foundation.
