This Saturday 06.06, something trance-adjacent and gloriously unruly takes over Jolene, as Peach Gxrls and Hexercise bring their combined sensibility to Kødbyen.
Two of our favourite curators and DJs in town, djGEM & Soft Pxrn, invite artists from NYC and Berlin for a night of genre-fluid mayhem — moving through progressive house, euphoric and deep trance, percussive techno, and whatever else the room demands.
Setting things in motion is Soft Pxrn, Peach Gxrls founder and a known face to Jolene regulars under the slower-burning alias peachlyfe — a name familiar to the global techno and trance scene. Where peachlyfe runs fast and loud, Soft Pxrn goes inward: progressive house structures, melodic trance pressure, hypnotic rave euphoria. Her 2024 album Permission to Roam on UMAY is the clearest statement of where this project lives.
Matas comes from deep inside New York’s underground — a regular presence across spaces like Nowadays, Bossa Nova Civic Club, and Basement. His sets move between atmospheric ease and sharp, rolling percussion, with a floor-built sensibility shaped through years on both sides of the booth.
London-born, Berlin-based, and founder of the increasingly followed Iterations event and mix series, she’s a dedicated digger whose sets braid trance, techno, and house into something kinetic and genre-fluid. Rooted in 90s and early 00s architecture, but pushed with a new-school touch — playful, tripped-out, and relentlessly driving.
And finally: djGEM brings her radio concept Hexercise to Jolene for the first time. Finally, we may add. The Copenhagen-based, South African-born artist works in what she calls dancefloor psychedelia — inter-genre, trance-threaded, atmospheric — pulling the room gradually toward something deeper.
