Some people really don’t need much of an introduction. Steen Kong is one of them.

Part of Danish club culture for more than four decades, he’s done it all - throwing parties, digging records and spreading the house and techno gospel since long before most of us knew what a rave was. So, this Friday, we’re giving him the booth for the whole night!

One DJ, six hours, no handovers. Just a local legend, a serious record collection and enough time to properly dig into it. House, techno, deep cuts, unexpected turns — and whatever else Steen decides the room needs along the way. That’s really the beauty of an all-nighter: you get to hear a DJ tell the whole story. The warm-up, the weird bits, the moment things click, the peak, and whatever happens when it’s suddenly 04.30 and nobody wants to go home.

September is looking pretty damn good. 🙂‍↕️

We’ve got some of our favourite local selectors back in the booth, friends from further away dropping by, crews taking over the room, and a few names we’ve been trying to get to Jolene for a long time.

There’s house, techno, bass, weird stuff, fast stuff, slow stuff and plenty we’d rather not try to put a label on. Basically, the kind of month where picking which night to come to might be harder than expected. Keep an eye out, you might just find your new favourite DJ!

Thursday night, no big plans? Jolene Bar?

This is Jolene at its most relaxed: free entrance, bar open early, cheap drinks - happy hour running all night! It’s the perfect excuse to meet some friends after work have a drink — and see where things go from there.

This time, Mumsfilibaba and Prom Night take care of the tunes. Between them, expect a pretty wide stretch of dance music: house, electro, breaks, acid, Italo, cosmic disco, chuggers and plenty of things that sit somewhere in between.

Mumsfilibaba brings over a decade of playing dancefloors across Europe and Asia, with an instinctive approach that follows feeling rather than genre. Prom Night brings his own colourful mix of disco, house, acid and Afro-influenced sounds, shaped by years of digging and a family record collection rooted in soul, funk, jazz and R&B.

𝐒𝐚𝐭 𝟐𝟗.𝟎𝟖 - 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐚𝐢-𝐥𝐢𝐧, 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐧 & 𝐓𝐒 𝐊𝐚𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐚

Local Circuit returns for another night dedicated entirely to the people shaping Copenhagen’s electronic music scene.

From hypnotic atmospheres and fractured rhythms to psychedelic grooves and genre-fluid late-night selections, the night slowly moves from mood into pressure without following any obvious route.

This edition brings together three familiar faces with very different ways of approaching the dancefloor: pai-lin moves through moody dub, ambient, psy, progressive and minimal with a hypnotist’s touch; Thodén brings things into starker territory through stripped-back structures, off-kilter percussion and washed-out textures; and TS Kahuna moves freely between leftfield bass, house, techno, psychedelic rhythms and dubbed-out atmospheres, drawn to the weird and slippery.

Spazio Aperto returns to Jolene with Markus Kilsgaard, Prof. Amphibius and Prince of Whales for a night built around musical curiosity.

The idea is simple: forget the map and trust your ears. Expect a night moving freely between tempos, decades and moods — from warm, soulful selections and dubby excursions to house, acid, techno, electro and whatever makes sense in between.

Markus shakes things up with the curiosity of a dedicated record collector who still refuses to call himself a DJ. Prof. Amphibius will guide the night further into shapeshifting territory, drawing connections between hip-hop, roots, dub and electronic music, and Spazio Aperto co-founder Prince of Whales will make his own mark with his wide-ranging mix of Italo, house, dub, techno and robotic electro.

Three selectors with plenty of records and very little interest in staying in one lane.

ABOUT SPAZIO APERTO

The main focus of the project is to connect musical dots - which means more or less to drop all genre boundaries and playing completely free. In the radio shows, the artist have full freedom and are encouraged to step out of the club-peaktime state of mind and be daring and experimental in the booth. As the name suggests, there is a strong reference to space and the universe, which, obviously in electronic music, has a strong influence on many productions and DJ sets.

Sinewave returns to Jolene for another trip through the many mutations of UK dance music.

Built around what music writer Simon Reynolds called the “hardcore continuum”, the night traces a musical thread stretching from 90s hardcore and breakbeat through jungle, 2-step, grime, bassline and beyond. Different tempos and different eras, but the same restless energy running underneath.

Expect broken rhythms, heavy low-end, soundsystem pressure and plenty of unexpected turns as Sinewave moves freely between the different branches of this musical family tree.

ABOUT SINEWAVE

Created by DJ and producer Amazinggaijin, Sinewave grew out of years spent immersed in rave and bass culture, particularly the constant exchange between UK and local artists at Paris’ legendary Social Club.

The series explores how generations of producers have continually twisted house and techno through dub, dancehall, hip-hop and soundsystem culture — creating new forms without losing the raw energy at their core.

ATM lands at Jolene with Rasaaq, John Raffaele and Ricardo Roessel on Saturday.

Some nights you only understand in hindsight — the trust arrives quietly, and later you realise you’d been dancing inside something rare the whole time. Those rooms don’t appear on their own. People spend years, mostly unseen, building them.

This one is dedicated to those builders. The collectives who treat a space less like a venue and more like a shared breath, who turn warehouses and half-forgotten rooms into places where time stops mattering. Not reverence — something looser and warmer than that.
For this edition we bring three of them to Copenhagen: a Philadelphia record shop owner and long-standing organisers from New York, Philly, Boston and Chicago. Carried by the current as much as shaping it.
