TV 2 Kosmopol came to the prison to see our brewery and Slowburn Taproom.

They drank some b**rs and asked us a few probing questions.

We tried our best not to look like idiots.

West Coast IPA with Spruce Tips, Baby Pine Cones, Pine Flowers, Juniper Branches and Walnut Leaves - 6,8%
Collaboration with Wildfooding

Samka is a mindful and deliberate collaboration developed by our brewer Sean and his good friend and trailblazing forager, Thomas Laursen of Wildfooding.

Heres some thoughts from Sean regarding this project:

"The idea is to combine the flavors of the United States (where I am from) and Denmark (where Thomas is from).
​
We use hops from the Yakima valley and foraged ingredients growing wild in Jylland. Just as Thomas was instrumental in helping expand the flavor palate of Nordic cuisine with unexamined and unappreciated local ingredients, our idea was to try to do that in b**r too."
​
Thomas foraged in Jylland for all the spruce tips, baby pine cones, yellow pine flowers, juniper branches and walnut leaves that were used along side our dry-hopping of Columbus, Chinook and Citra for Samka.

Tasting notes for this delicious b**r are bright bitterness balanced with citrus, eucalyptus and dark berries.

Wee Heavy - 9,2%
Collaboration with Metal Magic Festival

We wanted to brew something heavy in collaboration with the Heavy Metal festival Metal Magic, so naturally we brewed an interpretation of the historic Scottish b**r style Wee Heavy.
Heavy knows heavy, heavy sees heavy, heavy drinks heavy.

The Wee Heavy is a strong malt-focused ale originating from Edinburgh.
Staggard is a full-bodied beast, with a sweet round complexity that is balanced by the gentle bitterness from Fuggle hops.
You get notes of toffee from the thickly layered malt bill without being it syrupy. It is a warming b**r with a beautiful deep cooper to ruby colour.
All these elements lend to an equilibrium that makes this potent beast remarkably drinkable and a delight to behold.

The Scottish red deer thrives in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. In medieval hunting terms, a stag in its fourth year is called a "staggerd" or "staggard". Illustration hand drawn, as ever, by the talented Rune Bodker.

We will, once again, be running a Slowburn Bar, at Metal Magic Festival.

Italian Pilsner - 5,1%
Collaboration with K-Town Hardcore Fest

We are psyched to have brewed the official b**r for K-Town Hardcore Fest 2026! K-Town is the hands-down best Hardcore Punk festival you could find. And for the second year running we are sending our best and freshest Italian Pilsner to keep mouths wet and spirits high.

The festival starts today at Ungdomshuset and the chaos runs until Sunday.

There's a sick line-up of international acts, like Hacker from Oz and Siyahkal from Canada, and homegrown talent, like Copenhagen faves Big Mess & Decorticate.

The festival is sold out, but if you want a taste of the madness you should check out Bike Wars. It is a insane battle with cyclists jousting on self-built steeds (tall bikes) and generally causing mayhem, while live hardcore punk bands blast out the party behind them. In their own words "Imagine a mix of Robot Wars, Mad Max, Demolition Derby and medieval jousting – but with bikes and punx!!"
It is a free event and usually at Blågardsplads on Sunday afternoon, maybe we'll see you there...

🤏𝐋𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐄 𝐊𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐆𝐍𝐎𝐍🤏

Table B**r - 3%

We love our low abv b**rs here at Slowburn, whether it is a guilt-free chugger or a responsible change in pace.

So naturally we are developing a delicate and bright table b**r for our core range selection.

Lille Kompagnon can easily be enjoyed as a lunchtime drink or as a refresher in the park when you still want plenty of flavour.

We fermented this tiny pal on Saison yeast, to contribute a bold flavour profile from the go.
We used oats and wheat, along with the barley, to give it the body of a stronger b**r.
Then Lille Kompagnon is hopped with Motueka and Riwaka, which both add a balance of citrus and floral flavours and aromas.

Our plan for this b**r is to keep experimenting a little, for example we will change the hops each time we brew it. But importantly, the abv will always be low and the flavour will always be high.

This Saturday May 30th at there is a genre defying gig of great magnitude!

Our friends from Smertegrænsens Toldere are the ring leaders of a diverse bill designed to bring maximum stimulation and entertainment.

Maria Bertel brings experimental, improvised trombone


Sewer Haul brings disgusting underground death metal


Svin brings noise, drone, jazz, and improvisation


Smertegrænsens Toldere bring explosive and confrontational Hardcore Punk


Slowburn brings the B**R. We made a hazy and fruity IPA that aids and abets the total immersion needed to enjoy live music properly. It is called Rundit i Manegen, ask for it at the bar.

It will be a special night, come out and enjoy yourself for once, sheesh!
