In Assisi, here the Rufino Basilica on the left and the Sancta Chiara Basilica on the right, snow falls intermittently in the winter. Soon spring will arrive and tourists will begin to flock to Assisi. And this year there will be extra tourists because Pope Leo has declared the whole of 2026 the Year of Francis of Assisi.

A Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year to all followers of Francis of Assisi. The image shows the view of the Basilica of St. Francis, where the Christmas message is projected onto the wall every evening.
It would be great if Francis' message of peace and love among all of God's creatures were to be realized in 2026.

Dear new friends on Facebook.
Thank you for your interest in Francis of Assisi. The musical oratorio premiered in 2010 at Musikhuset Aarhus and was later performed with great success in Austria, Italy, and Poland.

To mark the 800th anniversary of the death of Francis of Assisi on October 4, 2026, May Music has arranged 12 songs from the work for a ca****la choir (SATB).
The response from choirs in Denmark and abroad has been very positive, and our recent Facebook advertising has been especially successful in Italy and Poland.
We look forward to seeing how many choirs will begin rehearsing the a ca****la songs.

Please feel free to leave any questions or comments below.

A MESSAGE OF PEACE. 12 new a ca****la songs for free download.
Today, September 21, is the UN International Day of Peace. The day is marked by choirs all over the world – including in Ebeltoft, Denmark, where 300 singers will sing for peace and unity on the ship Fregatten Jylland at 2 p.m. The concert is part of a global “peace sound wave” that starts at 2 p.m. in Australia and then continues around the world, from time zone to time zone.

As mentioned the other day, Francis of Assisi’s message is precisely peace among all people, so next year it will be an obvious choice to connect the International Day of Peace with the 800th anniversary of Francis of Assisi’s death on October 4.

The video in this post shows the last 30 seconds of the song Francis Prayer – Sancta Maria from the musical oratorio Francis of Assisi.
12 more songs have now been arranged for a ca****la choirs, and the sheet music can be freely downloaded and performed by choirs who wish to share the message of peace through music.
