Dear Baltic Soul Family,
there still seems to be some confusion.
We still get many emails per day with people asking what is going on and why is there no 20th Anniversary this year?!
We did not want to state these things publicly first but were confronted with videos and statements that were misleading and untrue.
We hope this statement will answer some of your questions.
This was not about two companies not finding an agreement.
This was not about not infoming anybody and step out of the agreement in silence.
Baltic Soul Weekenders came from love,
they were built on love,
only to create more love.
It proved right for 19 years.
Now there is a new event
…and it feels like
It comes from money,
Is built on money,
only to create more money.
They took Baltic Soul Weekenders customer contacts for their new event without asking.
They took Baltic Soul Weekenders artists’s contacts for their new event without asking.
And they took 2000 Baltic Soul Weekender customers for their new event.
Without asking.
Neither the customers nor us.
Five years ago we involved a production company to take care of the contracts and the production of The Baltic Soul Weekender events.
For a five year contract in basic terms.
Three years ago the production company started to involve their own sub - companies into the event.
In the past three years and after the involvement of these sub companies the production cost went up by 30%, leading the Baltic Soul Weekender making huge losses every year.
Also three years ago, the production company secured a contract at the Baltic Soul Weekender venue for the next 5 years.
And they did not inform us about that very important move in any way.
Last year we informed the production company that we will continue the Baltic Soul Weekender with another production company.
We offered to cover their costs for the 2026 event, so they would not make a loss.
Rent at the venue in 2026, cost for artists they had booked on behalf of Dan for 2026 and so on.
We wanted to minimize their risk.
But instead the production Company asked for 300.000 EUR to free the dates they had secured.
And in case we declined, they would set up their own event to end Baltic Soul Weekenders at the Weissenhauser Strand for the coming years.
This felt like Baltic Soul Weekenders were blackmailed.
To ensure the production companies‘ profits. Either way.
This still feels like a move from mobsters, not from partners.
We assume some people don’t care what kind of events they attend.
They shall enjoy the event.
But we know for sure, the Baltic Soul family does care.
And the family will survive.
It organically grew over the past 20 years.
Make up your mind…
One Love & One Soul
