Schneider Weisse USA Official page of Schneider U.S.A. In the 1870s the Pilsener style, the newest on the scene, was all the rage in royal courts across Europe.

With wheat beer's popularity in sharp decline, Bavaria's King Ludwig II sought to unload his unprofitable royal brewery and sold the rights, in 1872, to an intrepid brewer, Georg Schneider I. Together with his son Georg Schneider II, the G. Schneider & Sohn brewery was founded at the Maderbräu at Tal 7, now known as Weisses Brauhaus, one of the oldest traditional breweries in Munich. And the rest

is history...

Today Schneider Weisse beers are brewed in the oldest wheat beer brewery in Bavaria. Located in the idyllic town of Kelheim, wheat beer has been brewed in this brauhaus without interruption since its founding in 1607. With Georg Schneider VI currently at the helm, Schneider Weisse has remained a small family brewery for six generations and counting.

Today, we celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Reinheitsgebot, also known as the German Beer Purity Law. The law was originally enacted on April 23, 1516 by Munich’s Duke William IX, requiring beer to only be brewed from barley, hops and water. The law now states that malted grains, hops, water and yeast may be used - but nothing else. Celebrate with Schneider Weisse, the oldest wheat brewery of Bavaria.
