The day before Hamburg’s Pride rally, at a time when coming together as a community felt more needed than ever: Lee Campbell and Colin B Osborn stopped by with their brand-new interactive poetry-drawing format: “Disembodied Poetics”. We conducted a meticulously close reading of the body (both inside and outside) guided by their poems and spoken word pieces, letting our pens wander wherever the lyric took us. And guess what: Some of us even won a prize for the result!
Pop by to check out the winners’ piece and our prize, a collection of Lee’s coolest poems which we’ll have on display for you. And make sure you don’t miss out on the great “Disembodied Poetics” tour which might even take them all across continental Europe (as per some hints by the hosts).
A fantastic evening of community, body exploration and the fine(ish) arts! Huge thanks to Lee and Colin for letting us take part, and to everybody who showed up and pieced together a collaborative body! In the end, it was our distorted, disembodied, fragmented bodies rather than unattainable beauty standards that led us one step closer to (self-)acceptance: Turns out that’s exactly how the path looks.
