Still thinking about how to spend your Friday evening? Join us for the Night of Taiwan! We, the Taiwanese Student Association in Hamburg, Sino-FSR, Taipei Vertretung Büro Hamburg, HOTEL VILLA SCHNEVERDINGEN, and Taiwanese volunteers are ready to give you one of the most unforgettable nights in your life tomorrow. Starting with deciding food and games to handmaking all the props, we have put all the efforts to prepare this event for more than a month. Without your support, we couldn't have done it! No matter how much time you have tomorrow evening, pass by at AAI (Asien-Afrika-Institut) room 221 at the University of Hamburg to say 'hi' to us! There will be Instagram board for you to check in, and we can't wait to have you on board!

Night of Taiwan 2019

The event will be held from 6pm to 9pm. During the first half hour of the event, we will broadcast Taiwan's promotional videos, then live music performances, and a brief introduction to each game and food.

After the host's opening, it is time for all the friends who come here tonight. Please enjoy the beauty of Taiwan through food and games! You will find yourself in a market like not only a second-hand market but also a morning market having a variety of food stalls. A market like this is Taiwan’s most famous culture -- the night market.

Taipei Raohe Night Market, Taichung Fengjia Night Market, Tainan Garden Night Market, and Kaohsiung Liuhe Night Market are all famous night markets in Taiwan. In the Night Market, people can find delicious food, beautiful clothes, and toys. The important thing is that the price is very cheap.

當天活動時間為晚上六點到九點，在活動的前半個小時裡我們會播放台灣的介紹影片、然後有現場的音樂表演、以及簡單介紹各個遊戲和食物

在主持人開場完後，接著就是屬於各位蒞臨的朋友們的時間，請大家盡情透過美食和遊戲去探索台灣的美!這時候你會發現自己彷彿身在一個市場裡，像是二手市集卻又像在早市裡有各種食物的攤位，而像這樣的市場就是台灣最有名的夜市文化

台北饒河夜市、台中逢甲夜市、台南花園夜市和高雄六合夜市都是台灣有名的夜市，在台灣夜市裡面人們可以找到好吃的食物、漂亮的衣服還有好玩的玩具，重點是價錢十分便宜。

Each song has its own story, each song has a gripping melody.
Let us to know the Taiwan’s Rock Band--- Mayday!
If you know Mayday, you are really a big fan of Taiwan. If you don't know that Mayday, it's doesn't matter. You can hear “excited songs”, when you come to Night of Taiwan.

Mayday reveals the seventh of July, 1999. It consists of five members, including lead singer: Ashin, guitarists: Monster and stone, bassist: Martha and drummer Guanyou.

Mayday was influenced by the British Rock Band's Beatles. The songs written were not only love songs, but also the ethos of friendship, determination, peace and so on.

The songs of Mayday are written by five people. The lead singer Ashin specializes in lyrics. Some people say that: reading the lyrics of Ashin will give you the motivation to start again. This also makes the charm of Mayday, in addition to the moving melody, there are also touching lyrics.

What is Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor? -- A distilled liquor made from sorghum from Kinmen, Taiwan
金門高粱酒是什麼? -- 來自台灣金門的高粱酒

Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor is made from locally grown sorghum and fine-quality underground water, following a traditional process. All of these contribute to its worldwide reputation as well as its fine quality, unique aroma, and mellow taste. The products of Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor Factory are mostly distilled liquors of various kinds, among which the top grade is called "Chengao". It has been placed in cellars for over five years before being bottled. Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor Factory has also produced a kind of liquor containing less alcohol in it. Its alcohol content is only 38%, unlike the usual 58%, and it is considered appropriate and popular by the public.

金門高粱酒是利用金門當地的高粱和良好的水質再加上古法的釀造，而釀造出來的馳名中外的好酒，聞起來香味獨特，入喉時甜美甘醇。目前金門酒廠所生產的高粱酒種類繁多，大都屬於蒸餾酒類，其中的極品是「陳高」。「陳高」是將特級酒存放於地窖中，經過五年以上的時間才灌裝。金門酒廠近年來也研發出酒精濃度較低的高粱酒，其酒精濃度不同於一般的58度，只有38度，適合大眾口味，也很受歡迎。

Introduction of Bubble Tea -- an original drink from Taiwan
珍珠奶茶 -- 來自台灣的原創飲料

You all probably know that Bubble Tea comes from Asia, but do you know that it actually originated in Taiwan? The Taiwanese tea-based drink was invented in Tainan and Taichung in the 1980s. The Hanlin Tea Room of Tainan claims that bubble tea was invented in 1986 when teahouse owner Tu Tsong-he was inspired by white boba balls he saw in the Ya Mu Liao market. The other claim is from the Chun Shui Tang tearoom in Taichung. Its founder, Liu Han-Chieh, observed how the Japanese served cold coffee (while on a visit in the 1980s) and applied this method to tea. The drink became popular in most parts of East and Southeast Asia during the 1990s. Its recipes contain tea of some kind, flavors of milk and sugar. Toppings such as chewy boba, coconut jelly, puddings and red beans are often added. There are many varieties of the drink with a wide range of flavors. Each of the ingredients of bubble tea can have many variations depending on the tea shop. Typically, different types of black tea, green tea, and oolong tea.

你或許知道珍珠奶茶來自亞洲，但你知道它實際上起源於台灣嗎？這款以台灣在地茶葉為基底的茶飲是在1980年代在台南和台中發明的。一說是由翰林茶館涂宗和先生於1986年在鴨母寮市場看到小販賣的白色粉圓得到靈感，將買回煮熟的粉圓，加入奶茶裡試做，發現口感甚佳，因而發明出第一杯珍珠奶茶，因白色粉圓晶瑩剔透如珍珠而命名「珍珠奶茶」，之後粉圓加上黑糖才改為黑色今貌。另一說是由春水堂商品部茶總監林秀慧（時任創始店店長），於1986年將粉圓加入奶茶中，成為朋友間的特調私房茶，起初只與顧客分享，後來因為頗受好評，便於1987年正式掛牌上市。1990年代之後，珍珠奶茶在東亞和東南亞的大部分地區開始流行。它的食譜包含某種茶，牛奶和糖。除了添加珍珠之外，還可以添加椰子果凍，布丁和紅豆到飲料中。現今的珍珠奶茶種類繁多，口味各式各樣，每間飲料店都有他們各自的特調。

A Taiwanese saying goes, "Where there is a wisp of smoke from the kitchen chimney, there will be Lurou Fan" (braised pork with rice). The popularity of this humble dish cannot be overstated.
"Lurou fan" is synonymous with Taiwan.
A good bowl of Lurou Fan has finely chopped, not quite minced, pork belly, slow-cooked in aromatic soy sauce with five spices. There should be an ample amount of fattiness, in which lies the magic. The meat is spooned over hot rice. A little sweet, a little salty, the braised pork rice is comfort food perfected.

--> What is "Night of Taiwan"?
Night of Taiwan is an activity that has been held by the Taiwanese Student Association in Hamburg for two years already. This year, to continue the tradition, there will be traditional Taiwanese food and drinks for everyone to get the best taste of Taiwan. What's new this year is that we will have several games for you to learn about Taiwanese traditional festivals. After you complete all the games and missions, you will get 1 euro coupon for exchange of the delicious food and drinks!!! We will for sure make your stomach full and give you an unforgettable night with music and laughter.

台灣之夜是由漢堡台灣同學會所舉辦的活動，已經連續舉辦兩年囉！今年，延續傳統，也會有台灣的傳統美食和飲料讓大家能在漢堡品嚐到台灣在地的滋味！與以往不同的是，今年的闖關主題是以台灣著名的節慶去設計，讓大家能更深入的了解我們的傳統文化。在完成闖關及達成任務後，你也將會得到一歐的食物和飲料的折價卷喔！我們保證會讓你填飽肚子，給你一個充滿音樂和歡笑的難忘夜晚。
