arkaoda’s final chapter (let’s celebrate together!)
For almost nine years, arkaoda has been a space for music, culture, nightlife, experimentation and community. Through all the challenges, uncertainties and difficult moments, we managed to keep going. We invested enormous amounts of time, energy and resources into building a safe, and inclusive space, and into doing things properly, securing the necessary licences and creating a place where people felt welcome.
During the period when the venue was closed and we were working to resolve various issues in 2024, the founders also began taking different paths in their personal lives. After almost nine years of this journey, they have now reached the point of saying goodbye to arkaoda and moving towards new opportunities.
Last week, the decision was made to close the venue at the end of August. At the same time, we are still looking for the right people who might want to take over the space and continue its story in some form.
We are, of course, extremely sad by this news. But also very grateful and privileged for everything we have experienced together. And that is why we are reaching out to you.
Over the years, you, the artists, DJs, collectives, promoters, organisers and friends who have shared this space with us have played an essential role in shaping what arkaoda became. All the events and every person who passed through these doors has contributed to what we are today.
For our final month, we are inviting all the artists and collectives who have been part of arkaoda’s journey to join us for our final weeks and help us celebrate these past years.
August is our final month and we want to make it one to remember. So for that, we are currently putting together a special final programme filled with music, gatherings, collaborations and familiar faces. We hope you will join us for as much of it as possible and give arkaoda the farewell it deserves.
