Tresor Records celebrates the 30th anniversary of the ‘Infiniti Collection’ with a remastered and expanded edition of the classic compilation from Infiniti, an alias of Detroit originator Juan Atkins, available on vinyl for the first time.⁠

From its origins in the Motor City to the themes of interstellar travel, techno has always been a genre focused on forward movement: a tradition that NVST’s new EP ‘GODSPEED’ continues in both music and title. The EP is a collection that brings to mind the spirit of early, non-conformist releases on Tresor, full of hypnotic synth loops, spacious FX and breakbeats, yet with a crisp and modern sonic palette. ⁠

Surgeon’s Shell~Wave album is getting a repress. Out October 9.⁠
⁠
The album consists of eight single-take explorations of the hard yet minimal techno that Surgeon is known for. Surgeon blends modern machines with live takes, inspired by 60s producer Joe Meek and 70s reggae. “It’s interesting to return to old techniques after 30 years, connecting the present with the past.”⁠ This ‘time travel’ philosophy is inherent in the music as synchronized loops repeat, forming unique moments. The album’s artwork by Jazz Szu-Ying Chen reflects movement, soundwaves, and sea creatures’ shells: “Her work struck me, conveying ideas that words cannot.”⁠
