Pink Stiletto is a San Francisco-based analogue synth-driven project fusing 80s New Wave, Italo Disco, Post-Punk and early EBM aesthetics with bilingual lyrics and a seductive, magnetic edge. Fronted by Valery Kvochkova, the project channels the eccentric energy of ZE Records and Eastern Bloc disco, merging glamor, grit, and bold experimentation of European electronica.

Ragingly bright post-punk quartet Ringlets emerged from Aotearoa’s musical ether in 2021; carving out space with their distinct blend of delicate wit, grit and evident sonic technicality. With a highly durable, machine-tested rhythm section and two of Auckland’s leading lyrical & melodic consultants, Ringlets have been fast-building a solid reputation.
Catching the eye of former Pitchfork editor Chris Ott, Autumn 2023 saw the band release their eponymous debut under Ott’s label Mutual Skies. Produced by De Stevens (Office Dog, Erny Belle) and the band themselves, the 10-track album is a sporadic and riotous introduction to this exciting musical offering.
Cut to the year 2025, and few post-punk records from Aotearoa would have been more anticipated this year than the band's sophomore offering The Lord Is My German Shepherd (Time for Walkies), which saw the four-piece return to The Lab with Olly Harmer and usher in Michael Logie (The Mint Chicks) to produce alongside. Mixed later at Abbey Road Studios by Isaac Keating, the result is a collection of songs more cohesive and controlled - yet constantly changing and re-composing itself, totally deserving of the ‘Flying Nun Records’ alumni position it’s earned them

Userband is a musical project initiated by Sarah-Louise Barbett (aka Musique Chienne, Miss Bean), an artist based in Marseille. The group, currently a duo, is composed of Sarah-Louise Barbett on bass and vocals and Yann on guitar. The duo is occasionally joined on stage by Sila on drums, Claude on second bass, and Prvrti on tambourine. Their music offers a collective and emotional resonance (but not emo), inspired by ’90s rock bands.

“Let’s start our journey together, close your eyes, open your ears and follow the footsteps which pace a howling NYC & Marseille. Push that door and take the stairs to a basement you can easily picture: behind you, a band is sound-checking, a dizzy atmosphere, feedback and joy of the night to come. On stage, USERBAND ready to rock your night.

This is how this first album starts, in which we follow the ordinary day that we all lived once: meeting friends for a movie, feeling intense love, gazing by the window or from a sofa… We recognize tenderly Sarah-Louise’s balance between a total rhythmic control and games on melody & lyrics. Joined on this project by great American musicians and the French super-technical team, this 11-song collection is a jewel shining in those dark times…”
