Many people mainly come to .tavern for the lit fusion burgers. But I put my dad’s Asian specialities on the menu as well— and not because I lack confidence in our burgers or anything, but cuz my dad is pretty damn legit as well👨🏼‍🍳

December 2016: The very first Umami Burger prototype made in my homekitchen.
The bun was made with a Thermomix and had a parmesan frico instead of melted cheese.
Had to scrap the parmesan frico because it would double the time it takes to cook an Umami Burger.
Also had to scrap the homemade buns because my buns had the texture and taste of salted stone bricks compared to BEKAREI‘s fluffy Potato-rolls

Hello everyone,
I sincerely apologize for the lack of e-activity, I was very busy just keeping the shop going at usual quality while fixing a big list of smaller issues that we didn't address since opening (for example playing something else other than Beatles songs)

The restaurant is going well thanks to you guys & ladies and your awesome mouth to mouth propaganda (for real, I did almost no marketing)

And now that my burger-flipping Padawan has mastered the momo buns, I am finally free to further develop the momotaro menu (planning to expand into Chinese cuisine/Burgers, HQ Bubble Tea, and more vegetarian stuff cuz I turned spiritual since opening lol

Also it's probably time to expand too!
I am open for any non-touristy location that is in need of an Asian Tavern.
Let me know in the comments if you think such a place in Berlin exists!

When we opened in Summer last year, absolutely nobody came! It was not sure that we would survive the winter.
But thanks to the support of our visitors I can now confidently declare that momotaro tavern is here to stay!
(at least for the next ten years until my rent contract runs out)
