This is very difficult for us to write, but the time has come for us to say that we will be closing La Côte.
We will remain open with regular service until 25 April, and our booking system will stay open until then.
On 26 April, we want to end with a big celebration where we mark 6 years and say goodbye to La Côte, with cocktails, wine, DJs, and happy vibes. We hope as many of you as possible will stop by one last time and celebrate with us. More info will come regarding the party.
La Côte has been so much more than a restaurant to us. It has been a place we built with everything we had, with love, time, energy, and a strong belief in creating something warm, lively, and special. A place where people could come together, eat well, drink wine, celebrate, and feel at home.
Being able to do this has been a dream. A dream that also demanded more from us than we ever could have imagined. That is why it hurts so much to now have to let go.
There are many reasons why we have made this decision. In recent months, guest numbers have declined, which has made it increasingly difficult for the business to remain financially sustainable. At the same time, the pressure around us has become too much. Our landlord wants a rent that is simply not reasonable for us, we have had a neighbour who has been trying to shut us down for several years, and in the end, the large invoice from Vattenfall was the final blow.
At the same time, we want to say how incredibly grateful we are for all the help we received regarding the Vattenfall invoice. That support allowed us to pay off a large part of it, and it meant so much to us.
We feel enormous sadness, but also deep gratitude. To all of you who have come to us over the years. For choosing to come to us.
We also want to thank everyone who has worked with us over the years. You have been a huge part of the heart of this place.
Thank you for being part of La Côte.
Best,
Rebecca, Felix & Staff
