ORA is a wine bar and restaurant in the former Oranien pharmacy in the heart of Kreuzberg. In partnership with Alan Micks, who has been the head chef at Michelberger Hotel & Restaurant for many years, Nadine and Tom Michelberger took over the established restaurant in 2020. Head Chef Sam Kindillon creates a regularly changing three- and four-course menu. Together with Alan Micks, Kindillon cultivated strong relationships with outstanding producers and suppliers around Berlin. Today, there is a bounty of produce going into the menu from small farms, foragers, and local hunters. More and more ingredients come from the Michelberger farm in Spreewald. From 5 pm, the bar offers spontaneous visitors a distinct selection of light snacks and small dishes to share from Italian burrata to nduja arancini and fresh oysters - for an aperitif or to linger with a selected glass of wine or hand-crafted drink. ORA is characterized by its extensive and constantly growing wine list. The list ranges from esoteric wines from lesser-known regions and winemakers to coveted quality wines from great locations. With great attention to the historical details such as the elaborate woodwork and stucco from the 19th century, the former neighborhood pharmacy was converted into a restaurant and bar in 2015 by its previous owners. The focus is on the original wooden fittings and the sales counter, which reflect the special charm of the place. Many historical objects such as crucibles and apothecary jars adorn the large wooden shelves and are reminiscent of the original use of the premises.
