RIP James Anthony Carmichael, one of the greatest writers and producers the West Coast ever had. A countless amount of classics came form this mans gifted hands, from the 1960s to the 80s he was writing and producing some of the worlds greatest SOUL trax. Heres a rare live footage of the great Jackie Lee doing the James Carmichael arranged classic "The Duck"

Early Philadelphia girl group Honey and The Bees consisted of Nadine White, Cassandra Wooten, Jean Sanders and Gwen Oliver, they got their name from producer and songwriter Jimmy Bishop following an audition. They had a hit in 1971 with "It's Gonna Take a Miracle" before they broke up in 1972. Prior to that, in 1965 they had auditioned for Jerry Ross who named them The Yum Yums, they only recorded one single for him, the B side being this ever popular and rare gem, co-written by Ross for the ABC Paramount label, from 1965 "Gonna Be A Big Thing".
