For two nights we transform into a Japanese Izakaya.

On Wednesday 10th & Thursday 11th, chef Antonis Mina presents a menu inspired by the small plates and drinking culture of Japan’s late-night izakayas, while Alex D takes over the bar with a cocktail list built around highballs. Crisp, refreshing and made for long nights.

Expect deep grooves on vinyl, Japanese small plates, ice-cold highballs and a room built for drinking, eating and listening.

A love letter to vinyl.

The reason i love vinyl has never been the crackling sound throughout the room while a record spins, nor the warm sound people always talk about. In my opinion the warmth is coming from the mastering itself, not the format alone.

Even though these were never reasons for me to fall in love with records, but because records teaches music to breathe again. When you buy a record, you are holding a small piece of the music in your hands, the scent of a brand new pressing, the dust resting on an old one, the artwork , the endless search.

Streaming made music effortless, and with it, music slowly lost some of its value, its respect.
Vinyl made it feel alive again. You land in another country and almost instinctively think: “Where are the record shops?!?”

And maybe that’s the real magic of vinyl. Not perfection, but connection.

Notes and Ukiyo Listening Bar team up for a smooth and sexy all-day session on May 17th. Expect a solid lineup of vinyl, a joint cocktail and food menu, guest shift from Beefeater Gin ambassador and good people from both spots.

We start at 1:00PM with beers burgers and records, and keep it rolling until late PM with drinks, bites and dance.
