“Riccos Beach Since 1975”
Dear Νίκος Χριστοδουλίδης - Nikos Christodoulides Υφυπουργείο Τουρισμού - Deputy Ministry of Tourism Υπουργείο Εσωτερικών
I am writing with deep concern and disappointment regarding the recent decision to remove Mr. “Riccos” from the location he has cared for and worked in for nearly fifty years.
Since 1975, Riccos has been more than just a man running a small beach café — he has been a symbol of Paphos’ spirit, hospitality, and history. Through his hard work, kindness, and dedication, he transformed a simple seaside spot into one of the most loved and recognizable places in the region. Generations of locals and visitors alike have grown up by his side, creating memories that are part of our cultural and emotional heritage.
To remove him now, at this stage of his life, after all he has given to the community, is not only unfair it is deeply unjust. This place exists because of him. The name, the atmosphere, the memories they are all his creation. Taking him away from there is like erasing a part of Paphos’ identity.
We ask you respectfully to reconsider this decision. Allow Mr. Riccos to remain in the place he built with love, dedication, and honesty for half a century. Let his story end with dignity, not displacement.
For over half a century, Riccos Beach has been a landmark of Paphos.
Founded in 1975 by Rikkos, it began as a small seaside spot offering warmth, hospitality, and the simple beauty of Cyprus life.
Through the years, it became more than just a beach it became a tradition.
Generations of locals and visitors grew up with Riccos’ smile, his kindness, and his dedication to keeping this place alive and welcoming.
From morning coffees to sunsets by the sea, from laughter to music and friendships that last a lifetime Riccos Beach is a piece of Paphos history, written in sand, salt, and heart.
On behalf of the community of Paphos and all who cherish Riccos Beach
