Please note the latest amendment to the OFAC rules on travel to Cuba. Our hostal is a privately owned small business with no connections to the Cuban military.

The Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) is amending the Cuban Assets Control Regulations, 31 C.F.R. part 515 (the "CACR"), to implement the National Security Presidential Memorandum issued by the President in June. These regulatory changes are intended to channel economic activities away from the Cuban military, intelligence, and security services, while maintaining opportunities for Americans to engage in authorized travel to Cuba and support the private, small business sector in Cuba. The CACR amendment will be published in the Federal Register on Thursday (November 9, 2017), at which time the changes will take effect. OFAC is also publishing a number of new and updated Frequently Asked Questions and a Fact Sheet pertaining to this regulatory amendment.

Relations between the US and Cuba are steadily improving including some loosening of banking regulations which will eventually make purchasing Cuban goods and services easier but so far US banks have not implemented the measures necessary to allow Cuban businesses to accept credit card transactions either online or in Cuba. Add to that the complications of limited internet access. We look forward to setting up an online reservation system as soon as we can, but in the meantime we ask for your patience when making reservations with our hostal.

For now we believe the best way to communicate between us and our patrons is through the use of the Contacts tab of our website. We invite postings on Facebook and Trip Advisors to help get the word out but due to different rules for making transactions, posting links, etc, our website remains the most reliable way to communicate between us when making reservations.
