Located 100mtrs past the Tamarindo Gym, open daily from 3pm till 8pm Volcano Brewing Company, first opened its doors in 2011 as Tamarindo’s pioneer brewer serving our delicious craft beers: Witch’s Rock pale ale and Gato Malo nut brown ale. In 2014 we completed a new, bigger brewery located within the Witch’s Rock Surf Camp complex. Our craft beers are now available on tap in both Eat at Joe’s and

El Vaquero Brewpub. We offer growlers so you can enjoy our beer at home, and we can even set you up with a simple draft beer system and personal kegs for your house, business, wedding, event, or special occasion. All of our beers were developed over the years by our brew master, Niki Hurren. Come experience this one of a kind Tamarindo brewery for yourself! About our beers:

All of our beers were created with the mindset of having a beer at the beach. We use local, tropical ingredients, with the idea of creating beers that pair with local cuisine and lifestyle. Gato Malo Nut Brown Ale- A traditional southern brown ale with a classic malty taste, this brew contains hints of toasted malt, chocolate, caramel and coffee. Perfect for dark beer lovers, with a 5% gravity. Witch’s Rock Pale Ale- This medium bodied, balanced brew is perfect after a surf session, or to cool you down from your day in the sun. Containing tropical, floral, and citrus undertones, this beer is drinkable and refreshing, with a gravity of 4.5%. Witch’s Rock IPA- Like the pale ale, but turned up a notch. It still contains the tropical and citrus taste of our pale ale, with a hoppy balance and a 6% gravity. About the Brew Master:

Nikki Hurren came from the UK to Costa Rica in 2004 to surf, and has worked for Witch’s Rock Surf Camp pretty much since the day he got here. He met his wife, Andrina, in Eat at Joe’s Restaurant “at table #11”. He and his wife now have two beautiful children, Olivia and Ozzie, that are growing up enjoying the Pura Vida Costa Rica culture. You will easily recognize Niki by his English accent, his contagious personality, and his uniform of knee-high rubber boots, board shorts, and no shirt. Niki loves his family, Costa Rica, Witch’s Rock, surfing, and brewing amazing beer at our local brewery. His knowledge and passion for beer is something amazing. He is truly someone who knows how to lead a happy life! The Brew Master’s Plan:
